Anyone into Photography?

I just bought myself a Nikon d3000 with some pretty solid lenses and zoom flash caps. I heard it's a great starter DSLR. I don't even know where to start with all of this.

Should I take a photography course or could a friend teach me first-hand?

dude just take pictures of shit, and some of them will be cool, and photoshop some to black and white for the hipsters to think you are an artist

What lenses did you get? I love the 35mm 1.8 lens. It is a perfect lens to learn with on that camera. And, it's only 200 bucks. I have an older d40x and really want to upgrade. Or, if you want a little more reach, try the 50mm 1.8. I've heard that one is a really good one as well.

Regardless of whether you take a class or not, just shoot. A LOT.

I got the 50mm 1.8 as well as the 70-300mm 1:4-5.6.

And yeah, still debating on whether taking a class is really necessary since I have a friend who's a photographer. Not sure if he'll be a good teacher though.
