We are considering moving our companies to States that are less of a tax burden. There is absolutely no way I would live in Nevada or Texas because they suck!

So our choice is either Miami, FL or Seattle Washington. Anyone live in Seattle?

used to. IIRC NateBishop does as well.

Do you need to be in Seattle proper? Some of the counties have county-specific incentives for businesses...especially if you're hiring local talent.

I just moved back a few weeks ago. Living with fam until the wife and I find a spot we like.

If you have info on that, I would greatly appreciate it

Seattle WA is a fucking awesome city. That said, given the choice I would still live in Miami instead.

I hate the heat bro and especially humid heat. Everyone else but my mom, sister and I want to live miami.

oh yea if you want to reconsider Texas, Austin area is a fantastic city. I have tons of family in Midland, Houston, Dallas and Austin and my work sends me to Austin every now and then, so Ive spent a lot of time in that state. I hate Texas but love Austin, its like Texas's version of Portland.

You mean you don't want to live in South Dakota or Wyoming either? LOL

You really cant go wrong with Seattle, but as someone suggested you might want to look into Vancouver WA, its a nice city and just across the river from Portland. Blazers are nice but no sales tax is better.

Love seattle but the traffic is gross. If I were you I'd take a look at being in WA right over the river from PDX, or somewhere at least 20 miles outside of seattle.

Bro I live in the LA area. There ain't nothing i haven't seen before. I would love to be close to portland, but being over the river would suck balls.

MIAMI IS COOL IF YOU CAN LIVE DOWNTOWN OR BRICKELL BUT VENTURE OUT PAST THE NICER AREAS AND ITS HELL ON EARTH. THE CUBANS WILL GET ANNOYING.

Then if you move to Seattle, get a house on Mercer Island. You pay a bit extra but have your own private lanes to get into/away from Seattle. It will save you years of driving stress. Also has great school district. Although there are portions that are only for mega millionaires, there are also large portions for the regular Joe schmo millionaire.

Look into Vancouver. The commute is not that bad. My company moved most of its operation from San Jose to Austin. I do not think I heard a single complaint.

Mercer Island is fancy shmancy.

Iirc, I think Paul Allen lives near there.

My brother lives there, I'll be there tomorrow. It's not all fancy, houses from 700k to 25mil, depends on where you live and if you have waterfront.

I second that traffic nomination. Worse damn place I know, the only place where they will drive neck and neck for miles using up all four lanes doing less than the limit.

Magnifier, you need access to the large Canadian market from Bellingham. My next door neighbors are even moving out in a few months.

I heard it was completely empty just after the Sonics left for Oklahoma

What i'm hearing is that your three votes matter and everyone else can go to hell, coincidentally that is exactly what Miami would feel like 10 months out of the year.
