Watched it last night on Netflix. Awesome movie.

Was looking online to see what people thought of it, and I realized that people are stupid. The director apparently won't explain the ending but it's obvious what happened.

I'll explain later if anyone cares.

It's a fantastic movie. I'd be interested in hearing your explanation of the ending.

SPOILERS BELOW

Even reviews of the movie describe it as a story of false molestation accusations. They lead you to believe it is false by the way they question the girl and how they tell her things instead of her saying them.

They also go to great lengths to show Lucas being persecuted and go so far as to kill the best character in the movie, his poor dog. You feel sorry for him.

However, they show him playing with the boys constantly. He likes them. They also make it a point to show the girl's older brother as quiet, distant and withdrawn.

Lucas molested him at an earlier time, they just don't show it.

He's guilty as fuck, just not of molesting the girl.

My initial reaction to that is that it's grasping at straws, but I may have to rewatch the movie. I don't think him enjoying playing with kids and the brother being quiet is enough to infer he molested the brother. I think if that was the point of the movie there would be more alluding to that.

He's sitting there crying by his sister. They don't show anything or it would be obvious. The playing with boys is classic watch out for the molester stuff.

All his buddies were cool with him at the end. The only one who could know anything would be a kid. It might have even been his own kid who shot at him. I'd have to rewatch it too as it was late last night when we finished it.
