Alot of people believed in Y2K, looked what happened to them- They looked like dumbassesWhat I'm saying is, don't believe every prophecy you hear of, because a majority of them never come true, while some are found AFTER the event happened, which makes them useless. Usually the ones after (mostly Nostradamus) are very vague in what they say and can mean anything.

yo F*ck it if we all die it's ok....we all had a great time on BBW so lets live up the next 5 years guys!!!!

wow... I never even said thatIt also made "perfect sense" back then for the times. A certain "Anti-Christ"(many people believe it may be Bush, or other leader) . Battle between religions (like now as well), mass killings (not as bad as then, but still many). There were also major natural disasters back then as well.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Justice @ Jul 4 2007, 07:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah, but the Maya calendar wasn't ending then.Check and mate.</div>Do you even know about the Mayan Calender? There are different cycles, we are in the last one. Just because we are in the last one doesn't mean that well it uh... REPEATS itself again from the beginning. December 21st 2012, is the winter solstice, nothing really special there. The calender reverts itself back to the starting point, which has not been done for thousands of years or so. A mayan cycle or "world" is 5,200 years. We are in the final 5th cycle (however some people say that we are in the 4th, hence not the last one), which is set to repeat again. Also the galaxy is supposed to align, this yet again happens in cycles. The Mayans predicted that as well. Just because they stopped making a calendar all of a sudden means the end of it all. Why is that people think that they are always so dam special? Why is it that the end of the world happens when I"M ALIVE. So egocentric down there. Every generation has thought that, using vague interpretations of ancient texts to prove their somewhat selfish point. The great fire of 1666 in London, surely the people there thought it was the end for them with the prophecies that managed to apply with them.Yet again Y2K also had some biblical context to it as well, further making it more believable. These prophecies are so vague that they can be interpreted and connected with the any negative event. The only thing that seems somewhat probable is that the polar ends may shift, not marking the end of the world in one day. Like I said before, the Mayans made dates AFTER December 21st 2012. The Christian sect I stated before who said the world would end around 1840 did not end. The people still believed in it, saying that the end of the world in 1841 was misinterpreted. This is where the end of the world prophecies can be at fault. One event may not seem so disastrous to another.Considering that even the Mayans made a time after this, and that they believed in cycles, why is it so far fetched to believe that it can repeat and that the world won't end? I can see what seem people believe with the St. Malachy prophecies about the Pope and the end of the world w/ the antichrist. But yet again, like the Nostradamus prophecies they are so vague and open to interpretations anything can apply to them. People in Malachy's time said that he had healing powers and could levitate, does that make him godly? So Chris Angel can predict the end of the world as well?

The Mayan calender is predicting a major celestial movement that doesn't happen often, why does the world end? The bible Code (which is a hoax in itself) can be decoded to say that the world will end in 2048. OMG its a religious text frombackthendecoded! It's a secret, it must be tru because some guy found it out. Granted there are more things that can apply to the end of the world in 2012 then say 2000, but that does not mean that it is true. In the Bible, it says (paraphrasing it here) that no one, not even Jesus, knows when the world will end. Only God does. (Sorry, I am not Christian, and don't know the extents of the Bible, but that is pretty clear cut there). These hocus pokus theories can be very entertaining, and have some truth to them, but half of the time you learn from it from a geocities website with flashing neon green and pink text telling you to how to live through it.

There's no importance to pointing out that the calendar works in cycles. It's impossible to continue a cycle when the earth explodes.

lol you have nothing else to say I guess. Just go straight to conclusions...I guess I will too...gg

like I said before, you just try to play it off, which is entirely okay, even tho "the perfect sense" that you said has happened numerous times with different texts. Plus, it's pretty hard to tell humor and sarcasm through text.

I gotta agree that only God knows when it's really the end, but I can only speak for myself because I don't know if your all christians. All I know is, with the world heading in the direction that we're going, there's not going to be a future and this 12/22/12 thing might actually happen. But something's got to change... :dunno:

Bush is ANTICHRIST!!http://www.bushisantichrist.com/<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He snorted cocaine ... He dodged the draft....His friends knew him as an alcoholic womanizer with a bad temper....a complete failure at business until his wealthy friends bailed him out. Yet within a few short years he was elected Governor of Texas, and quickly catapulted into the White House, in spite of losing the popular vote. He was re-elected with last minute help from Osama Bin Laden, in spite of high disapproval ratings. He still couldn't think his way out of a wet paper bag .....and yet he's declared an endless war and instituted some of the most radical political changes in American history ....</div>Sorry, just felt like posting it lol. The guy who made the site is crazy...

Yeah, and I guarantee that Hebrew thing is absolute bull sh*t.

I thought the Anti-christ was suppost to be a charesmatic person? Bush is anything but. though according to Revolations, the Anti-Christ would appear seven years before Jesus. we're going on seven years of Bush....

The Antichrist varies according to whatever source you hear of it. The majority of the descriptions is of a very charismatic person who would sway the people over with what he says, become a prominent leader, and then start his reign. Bush doesn't seem to fit that description (likeable), but some think that it is him (the War in Iraq is the main reason). Other's think that it will be the next pope. According to the prophecies of Malachy that he will also be likeable, but in turn be the devil. In the Bible, it says that the Antichrist will gather forces of like 4 great kingdoms, and fight Jesus and his followers. Supposedly the fight is one sided, the devil is defeated, and then the 2000 year kingdom will come into fruition.

So I watched the segment on the History channel about this. The predictions they have had are pretty creepy and realistic, but I do not believe in this. Mainly because the connections the Mayans have with the devil and under world

2012 will be crazy day. I cant say what will happen as im very optimistic what will happen this day. Its possible we wont even make it to 2012 though with the way nukes are getting produced nowadays. We should have never opened up pandoras box. First swords, then guns, now nukes, next extinction.

The thing is, I watched that special as well. They only show the one side of it,not the other parts. The defense of America is pretty dam advanced. There is a good chance they can spot a nuke flying and at least set it off away from the main target.

There has been enough nukes to wipe out the planet for a long time now.

However you were going on about how there are so many nukes getting produced now as the reason we're near the end. My point was that there have been a shitload of nukes for te last 50 years.

As I have said before, it's pointless to argue with PrimeTime in world affairs because he has little education in such a topic.

I honestly believe at some point whether it in my lifetime or my grandkids lifetime that it will be the downfall of mankind.

There has been more chance of a nuke being in the wrong hands and blowing up the world for years. Just because there is a major war doesn't mean that a nuke will be set off by someone. The repercussions of that attack on a major country like America for example would certainly be the downfall of the attacker's land. It would be a lose lose situation. I don't think nobody will pick up the slack for either side, unless the crime was truly heinous. Like I said before, technology is much more advanced. The threat is there, but it can be stopped.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (l?ckdown @ Jul 7 2007, 12:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Like I said before, technology is much more advanced. The threat is there, but it can be stopped.</div>I agree with what you're saying, but the other side to it is that countries like North Korea don't even really have the technology to get these things working. Yeah, they have "nukes" in the sense that they have atomic devices, but that doesn't solve the problem of getting it to the desired country and detonating it successfully.

I think the media has scared us so bad about Nukes that we think that one going off would distory us all, which isn't even close to being true. The US government sent hundreds maybe even thousands of Atomic and Hydrogen bombs off in the western deserts for years and it didn't distroy the world. The only countries which have massive devistating nukes is the US, Russia, France, and possibly a couple of the former Soviet states. everyone has has H-bombs, which could do major damage to an urban population but not total. the other countries such as India, Pakistan, and North Korea have smaller bombs which many have stated aren't even as powerful as the Nakisaki bomb. We're also yet to see what a nuclear bomb would do in a concrete urban area. both Atom Bombs used on Japan were dropped in cities primarily made up of wood. The biggest determent for a North Korea type country to using nuclear devices is the fact that the US has so many Nuclear devices that if NK were to use one against the US , the US would retaliate with it's own Nuclear divices and wipe out NK. Kim Jong-Il knows this, that is why he isn't going to use one. also, an unprovoked act like that would likely cause him to lose any Chinese Support, than he's just a mad man on a peninsula.Iran is a differnt story, they want Nuclear weapons and will funnell than to groups willing to use them. not against the United States, but against Isreal. Israel also has nuclear weapons and would use them against Iran and Syria, which could spark a huge conflict in the middle east. that is why Iran cannot get Nuclear weapons.
