Apology needed, but not from Oden

I totally agree. Sure, it's funny in a way - someone's gaffe can be funny - but Greg committed no crime and hurt no one. And I have not looked at the pics because Greg never intended me to see them and I strongly believe in the right to privacy.

Still, Greg did take the pictures and did send them. I am not saying "he deserves this", just stating a fact. He did.

What about Erin Andrews?

Because she had no choice. And some of those who, rightfully, blast this ex-girlfriend for publicizing Greg's photos had a real good snicker over what can only be called the sexual assault of Andrews.

Maybe this sets the stage for Greg to try for Wilt Chamberlain's record?:dunno:

Go Blazers

I guess I'd even go further; i could care less if he himself posted his naked pictures on the internet.

Come on man, Greg has NO chance of scoring 100 point in a game! Not with Brandon and LA here! Learn the game before you post! Checkmate!

Well, for the people who aren't aware of Wilt's... *ahem* accomplishments. HCP comes off looking like an idiot.

Wow, look at the new guy cracking on "THE". Somebody better let the rookie know who I am and how I roll. The only one looking like an idiot is you my little friend. I tend to joke around every now and then. Now you learned your lesson, run along back to the Boise Stampede forum. Adios!

after I saw the picture, I apologized to my girlfriend.......

Oh man. You sure did "burn" me. Way to show the new guy where he stands... </sarcasm>

I'm sorry, but it's really hard to take anyone seriously when they refer to themselves in the third person. If that's how you roll boss, you need to get yourself a new gimmick.

someone should close this thread before it gets ugly.

No no no. I wanna baptize this kid. It's like freshman and the first football practice of the season.

I feel like I am stuck in traffic anticipating a huge wreck ahead. this kid is toast. he should know that as a rookie the only person he could heckle right off the bat and not get crap for it would be mixum....and maybe kingspeed.

Welcome, Primus...while we don't like personal attacks here, we encourage spirited debate.

And "THE" HCP is one of our most prolific Master Debaters.

Nah, it's more like when you go to jail. The first thing you do is walk right up to the biggest, meanest looking SOB and punch them right in the mouth.

To be honest, the thought of you "baptizing" me, or the impending doom of the oncoming "wreck", isn't the least bit intimidating. Especially coming from an internet tough guy like you.

My head almost exploded when I read this.

Be the bigger man and walk away HCP!

I'll give the kid a little credit, his girlfriend is cute.

Back to the topic at hand: Great article and I agree on all points. I'd 100 times over rather have him waving around that weapon as opposed to the whole Arenas debacle.

I agree with the article as well. The moment I heard about the entire Oden mess, I was thinking it was a non-issue, and it seems that during the apology Greg was taking it more seriously than anyone else.

But I think as Blazer fans we just don't want the image of the organization or any of it's players to be negative, after enduring the JailBlazer era.

You've watched "The New Guy" a few times, I take it.

Is that you in your Avatar? If so, I wouldn't be going up to the big tough convict and punching him in the mouth. You would be giving him head without all those shiny white teeth.:tsktsk:

While I think he was incredibly embarrassed, I think he had to come across the way he did (solemn, apologetic) even if he didn't want to. If he had been aloof and laughing the Portland media would have completely crucified him. Probably even more so than if he hadn't apologized at all.

I honestly feel bad for our players because of the way they are placed under a microscope.

Repped. This take is exactly right and explains why I haven't looked at either GO's photos or the Erin Andrews video.

It's a sports message board forum.

If you're taking anyone here SERIOUSLY, you're missing the whole point of the board.

If that's you in your avatar, it looks like you weren't even born until after the so-called "jailblazers era", which a minority of fans were overly manipulated by the media to get their panties in a bundle over.

Given HCP's example of freshman and the first football practice, I was under the impression we were just throwing around stupid metaphor's. I wasn't aware that it was going to be taken so seriously. It wasn't literal, no reason to get up in arms.

Back on topic, to MrSelfDestruct

I agree completely, he made the right move, acting the way he did. Covering his own backside, so the situation didn't get any worse, he didn't give the media or anyone else any room to over-exaggerate like they tend to do. (e.g. Brandon Roy and "The Star-Spangled Banner")

It's sad that the squeaky clean image the organization has been striving for, puts the team under that microscope you're talking about. But that's just the way it is.

Well rookie, I actually have been the tough guy in prison and you have a very purty mouth so I would step very cautiously son.
