Apology needed, but not from Oden

Great article..I'm just glad ppl like Canzano haven't made a bigger deal out of it than they already have.

Given HCP's example of freshman and the first football practice, I was under the impression we were just throwing around stupid metaphor's. I wasn't aware that it was going to be taken so seriously. It wasn't literal, no reason to get up in arms.

Back on topic, to MrSelfDestruct

I agree completely, he made the right move, acting the way he did. Covering his own backside, so the situation didn't get any worse, he didn't give the media or anyone else any room to over-exaggerate like they tend to do. (e.g. Brandon Roy and "The Star-Spangled Banner")

It's sad that the squeaky clean image the organization has been striving for, puts the team under that microscope you're talking about. But that's just the way it is.

I'm too old to get up in arms......and why are metaphors stupid? Sounds like you are stereotyping metaphors. If you have been around metaphors for as long as I have, you will find that there are quite a few intelligent metaphors.:tsktsk:

Ya, I don't see anything wrong with what Oden did. It was a bit naive, but that's not a crime. He just trusted the wrong person.

I think the organization is striving for that image BECAUSE of the local media. Guys like Canzano, Quick to an extent, etc.

Brian T. Smith is probably my favorite person to cover the Blazers. He seems to focus more on the basketball, and less on the drama-- or worse, whose farts smell the worst.

YO, GREG! Listen up.

Have your agent get you an endorsement contract with Enzite. You could tell people you used that product for a couple of weeks. I think Enzite would sign you in a heartbeat!

PM me for my contact info, so you can send me my cut!

Go Blazers

I'm actually a big fan of metaphors, but in this instance, not so much.

I wasn't aware that HCP was a tough guy in real life, not just that he played one on an internet forum. :p

I totally agree. Sure, it's funny in a way - someone's gaffe can be funny - but Greg committed no crime and hurt no one. And I have not looked at the pics because Greg never intended me to see them and I strongly believe in the right to privacy.

Still, Greg did take the pictures and did send them. I am not saying "he deserves this", just stating a fact. He did.

What about Erin Andrews?

Because she had no choice. And some of those who, rightfully, blast this ex-girlfriend for publicizing Greg's photos had a real good snicker over what can only be called the sexual assault of Andrews.
That's interesting cause I looked at the Oden pics but not the Erin Andrews video. I felt the Oden situation was funny in a prankish sort of way but also a sheesh Greg kind of way. I thought the woman who did it was a bitch of course but didn't see the harm in looking. With the Erin Andrews thing I felt it was on a totally different level and had a MUCH nastier vibe to it. Who knows to each their own. I see what you are saying about Oden intending them to be private, I just didn't see that it was as bad as the Erin Andrews thing.

HCP doesn't have a real life.

Hispanic isn't a tough guy. He's the funniest, most loveable person on the board. And don't pay any attention to that prison time for bringing his guns to the locker room.

Why thankyou......... I think!

HCP doesn't have a real life.

OK I lied, he does have a life, and a wife, and a cute little girl. Then he steps into a near by phone booth and emerges as "THE" HCP fighting for truth, justice, and the American way. The S2 Forum Ranger and his side kick BEERBOY :smiley-bowdown:

See rookie, you started this. Came in here guns blazin on "THE". Hope you learned your lesson son.

Don't ever hope to collect from this guy after a card game. Unless you want to meet Mr. Gunn.

He's not, but some of those guys he hangs out with at work are. Especially that Mike guy. He looks kinda scrawny, but I hear he can mess you up. They don't call him "wild" for nothing.

Notice that Barfo never out-funnies Hispanic anymore? He gave up. The whole board is your oyster, HCP.

You know, I'd like you a lot more if you grew your hair, man. I mean, grow your hair, man. It's too short. Start growing it, man. Like today, any time today.

I'm going to carve a little white ivory Buddha of you sitting in the lotus position and rub your tummy for good luck during games. While I'm sitting on the toilet.

I came to terms with my follicle situation years ago and am very comfortable with it or without it. I have thought of having a mullet though.
