This situation isnt about constitutional rights. Its about a bunch of fundamental Christians making a passive aggressive attack on a peaceful Muslim gathering with the intent to incite a reaction, then trying to claim the moral high ground when they get the reaction they were seaking. If anything it makes me feel more sorry for the Muslims of this country who have to deal with these type of hypocritical jackasses on a daily basis.

The fact that someone disagrees with them is meaningless. That said in a private setting these people would not be able to get away with taunting like that, and they would be removed.

I'd say, like most of these videos online trying to prove some point, that it's not showing the entire story. I support their right to peacefully assemble outside and hand out pamphlets. Pretty sure their day didn't start when the video starts, but you're free to assume that it did.

In some extreme cases they can tell you to leave, but "Disturbing the Peace" is a very amorphous charge that is pretty dangerous in the wrong hands.

According to the article Maris posted, a whole lot of groups were doing a whole lot more than handing out pamphlets. And as someone else noted, their day didn't start when that video clip started. To take their edited videos as gospel is pretty naive.

Even if all they do is hand out pamphlets, why do they (or any missionaries of any religion) feel the need to "educate"/convert people. Live and let live.

Huevonkiller stole my answer. Also though, they were told they could hand out their booklets 5? blocks away. I assume there is some sort of city ordinance that backs that up, Im also assuming that the Muslims in this story were smart enough to get any city license or approval that they needed to protect themselves and receive backing from the police knowing that something like this would happen. Moves by both groups were obviously planned in advanced with certain expectations by the other groups. Why did the christians have a video camera in the first place if all they care about is spreading the faith? In this instance the Christians were the aggressors and clearly in the wrong as the muslims were just trying enjoy their day and faith, the muslims would have been better off ignoring them and might have overreacted a little bit but given the current climate and attitude towards them I can't blame them to much for calling the police, and they could have avoided actual violence by doing so.

Seems to me that if Nazis can march in a very Jewish neighborhood, Skokie, that free speech is fairly well defined. To be as intolerant and ignorant as the speaker chooses. It may be repugnant, and those Christians no better than those Nazis. The alternative is far worse - you're enabling some committee, likely unelected, to decide what can be said. They could be passing out pamphlets that say all Muslims are pussies that blow up buildings. It doesn't fucking matter. It maybe "morally wrong" like you suggest; but it's our right to speak our mind. It's our right to pass out porn and prostitution pamphlets in the middle of Vegas.

The moment you start taking that right away; our constitution isn't worth the paper it was written on.
