Anyway, she says:

Basil Rathbone? Tell slypokerdog to f*** off. If that isn't too impolite for your board.
Actually, Rathbone was all right. The fact that the Rathbone Holmes was in one film dealing with WW2 nazis was one of the inspirations for Moffat/Gatiss's modern Holmes in the first place. But you can't compare these two because this series explores Holmes as a much younger man than the version Rathbone played. This is something Moffat and Gatiss have talked about quite extensively.

Honestly, I only read half of this because I got bored midway. But I'm sure she makes an excellent point.

Hahahahahaha!

I think I love your wife. I rep'd your post but the rep is really for her.

Has she ever read/watched The Seven-Per-Cent Solution?

That's the key to your love! You put up a soundproof wall halfway into her saying anything.

What does she think of the American knockoff?

The one with Lucy Lu and that other guy playing Sherlock?

I actually really enjoy English television. The humor is dry, which I find to be very entertaining. I also spend a lot of time watching MotoGP, which uses English announcers. So much more fun to listen to than the American announcers on the Speed channel.

This is completely off topic, which I guess has been for a while anyway, but whenever she brings up Baker Street I'll smile and nod and let this entire song go through my head. I sometimes will let the guitar solo play twice, because it's awesome and my head bobs in an approving manner that she likes:

Great song!! It's in GTA 5 and Repped!

If you have over 10,000 posts since the migration... You might be a loser.

;-)

I'm a bit torn on that, because of the rather dubious circumstances surrounding its conception. On one hand I see Moffat and Vertue's tight-lipped annoyance (CBS approached them and assured them they wouldn't go ahead with the project without their blessing, I guess, then promptly did it anyway) - on the other, I hear Cumberbatch anxiously trying to get fans to show support to Jonny Lee Miller who is a personal friend.
I don't know, I might watch someday but I can't get too enthused at the moment. I've heard it's good and I'm sure it's a really interesting take. I guess I'm cynical about it right now because I know Sherlock was created because the two main writers had always wanted to create a show about their favourite character, whereas Elementary was conceived because they saw Sherlock and recognised that it was a successful formula. Something a bit clinical about the whole thing.

:) Ta.
I feel a bit guilty that I haven't. Mark Gatiss often mentions it. Is that the Robert Stephens one?

October 28th will forever be known as bring your wife to the forum day.

Bring out Mrs HCP. Is she busy?

Losers? Nahh... nerds/geeks/dorks probably. I mean unless you were kicked off a major syndicated nationally broadcasted TV show and in a cast interview they insisted you will never get back on the show.

he did get back on.. for the 100th episode. maybe he'll be on the 200th : )

I view it as CBS looking at the success of the show in England and wanting to cash in, nothing more.

I actually went to the Sherlock exhibit at OMSI and they barely mentioned the show on the BBC. It featured the Robert Downey Jr movies and the CBS show much more.

Fucking awesome!!!! Lol

For me, since I work at home, this place is the equivalent of shooting the breeze at the office water cooler. Well, except for the swearing, the NSFW threads, and the fact that I'd never work at a place with so many crazy misfits. And besides, when did I ever say I wasn't a loser?

And, Eric, don't listen to this Bones crap. If we ever meet, I'm still gonna ask for an autograph. ;)
