He was supposedly prevented from suicide in a special cell. Prison guards are never investigated in such deaths. Last I heard, in the Seattle jail, most suicides were during one guard shift.

My first thought. Also good to know some desperate, semi brain-damaged woman won't be marrying him, having conjugal visits and pooping out Hell-spawn with his fucked up genetic material.

It's not about saving the tax payers money. This piece of shit kidnapped and locked up 3 women for 10 years. Raped them, chained them, abused them, beat them, beat one of them so badly as to force her to abort her child. When finally caught he pleads to the charges and during his sentencing claims that his victims were prostitutes who came with him willingly, the sex was consensual and that they still love him.

He imprisoned them for 10yrs yet couldn't handle being locked up for a few months?!?

You are right, it's not about the money. But I am still glad he killed himself because it's a shameful passing, suicide in a jail cell, and takes him out of the public view as a disgusting blight. Someone earlier said they were glad he was gone before he married some sick woman and got conjugal visits, and I agree completely. I don't want news stories about his marriage, I don't want news stories about his parole hearings, I don't want news stories about his finding religion, I just don't want him to remain part of our lexicon. 20 years from now, If someone asks a friend if he remembers this case, I want them to not be able to remember his name, maybe not even remember if it was some creepy movie or if it was real. And now that the guy is dead, it can all wash away and start to fade into oblivion.

Again I disagree with you. This case should never be forgotten. One of the 3 women's disappearance was never looked into or investigated. All the police did was to take a missing person report. It serves as a lesson to victims to never to give up. To keep fighting and trying to escape. It serves as a lesson to families to never give up hope no matter how long your loved one is gone. It serves as a lesson to neighbors to pay attention and if you see something odd it's okay to report it and if you do report it it's okay to follow up with law enforcement to see what if anything they did. And hopefully it will serve as a lesson to law enforcement to treat all missing person cases seriously.

There wasn't anything that could have been done to prevent this but there were so many missed opportunities to put an end to these women's imprisonment over the years.

It also serves a template for others to follow, to learn from and improve on.

Let it be taught in police academy, let it be studied by victim advocates, but this is not who the public at large should be spending tons of time on. Every time I see Charles Manson or Tex Watson and the 7 or so children those guys have sired I get pissed. They don't deserve air time, they shouldn't be covered.

I don't see why he would commit suicide. His opening statement explained this was consensual. Those girls wanted him and enjoyed being in the basement for over 10 years.
