They said he will be in uniform for wednesdays game. I think this HAS to do with a trade. or just they assume they will make a deal.

Trail Blazers will recall rookie PG Armon Johnson from D-League after Monday's game at Utah. He will be in uniform for Wed game vs. Lakers

In his first 8 games, Johnson avg 17.6 points, 4.4 rebs and 2.9 assists in 27.3 minutes. He's not expected back in time for Tues practice

Might not have much to do with a trade. Wasn't the reason they sent him him down to allow for Chris Johnson to suit up? IDK for sure.

Maybe they just want to see how he is doing. It is pretty common for a team to pull their guy back after a while to see how the playing time may have helped. I also remember a few years back we yanked somebody back from the D league because the team was not working the skills they wanted them to.

With Roy and Camby back the people who wont be suited up is elliot/marks-babbit/oden

Ever notice we never hear a thing about Elliot? Not a blip.

If it had to do with a trade, I think they would make sure he made it for Tuesday's Practice. Obviously they do not expect him to play against LA

idk.... trade deadline thurs.... johnson called back up even though roy is back.

I noticed the Stampede have sure scored a lot of points and won games sine Armon has been down there.

What was the point of calling him up when Miller and Rudy are sharing the point the last few games and Mills only get 10-11 minutes?

it screams trade with roy coming back.

dont be shocked if roy starts at pg wed vs lakers and harris debuts vs nuggets fri

They interviewed him during the game against NO.

Yep, he sounded very positive, he's doing a lot of lifting, says he'll be back on the court in a month or so. These were "choice based" surgeries to correct a problem he was born with where the knee cap slides out of joint and cause problems, supposedly it went well. Should be no long term issue at all

He went down to the D-League for the same reasons Patty and Babbit were sent. They all needed more experience instead of rotting away on the bench. When we brought Patty and Babbit back, were there trades looming? This is absolutely nothing to speculate over. Why even speculate since our season is already over anyway Mixum?

The season is over, so who cares right?
yeah, how about we just limit our threads to talking about the upcoming draft! Or better yet, lockout speculations!

So assuming a trade does go down, I'm not sure how calling a player back up from d-league during the all-star break makes any difference? Presumably the Blazers could be trading Miller (or somebody else) with a point guard coming back and it's not like the Blazers can't trade Armon while he's with the Stampede.

Miller has too much value with his PER, leadership abilities, and saving us in the 4th this season. It would be stupid to trade him away for another player at this point of season.

I guess if you are only thinking about the remainder of this season that could be true, but if you are thinking long-term then trading him isn't stupid at all.

come on... acknowledge there is some stupidity in it. Pulling the plug on a season thats gone from depressing from all the devastating injuries to having the whole team clicking and kicking butt for some extra promise of tomorrow isn't some sure fire genius formula for success. Portland's young core has the real possibility of experiencing a playoff run which could prove to be an important building block of their long-term success. Hell, the fan base might enjoy winning a playoff series for the first time in over a decade too... is that stupid? I know you're not in this camp but many here think if Greg's good to go next year as expected, this club with Miller as it's starting PG is a contender for next year's title. If he is good to go and they've got some not ready for prime time player running the show at PG, it could be a lost opportunity to win it all... wouldn't that be kind of stupid?

I'd only support moving Miller this year if it's a pretty obvious/big time talent they're getting back... and I don't think thats very likely. Do you have any team in mind that is coveting Andre to the point they're going to give up something of real value for Portland's future?

It's odd timing for sure.

It could also be that the coaches realize other teams decided to scout Patty, and he is becoming more useless every game?
