I've been reading and hearing reports that ARod could very well catch on with another team such as the Marlins or Rays...but how could he be playing for another team while still being under contract to the Yanx and supposedly obligated to an "advisory" role for the Yanx ?

...it would seem to me that the Yanx would/should be compensated in some way. (maybe a portion of his salary paid by his new team?...maybe a draft pick?...maybe a prospect?


...just curious as to what some of you think...fwiw, I have no idea why this crossed my mind.

When the Marlins signed Ichiro they signed him because he could still contribute on both sides of the dish. The fact that he got hit # 3K was an assed attraction to a great ball players continuance. In the case of A-rodham I can't see a team signing him for the purpose of reaching 700 given his recent history. He can't play the field and as a DH the league knows how to get him out. Were I an Owner and my GM approached me about signing A-rodham, I'd fire that GM in a heartbeat. We've heard all or the political correct crap and after Friday he's gone. Got tired of listening to Suckliffs BS on A-rod last night. If one were to survey Yankee Players for the unbiased truth they'd probably say Thank God and Greyhound he's gone.

Effective Friday 8/12/16 Arod is released.

He's paid in full and can do whatever he wants.
Yanks will sign him to a contract as a consultant,ect ending in 2017 but if he has a chance to play with another team the Yanks "won't stand in his way" - I guess this means he can kinda opt out of the consultant job and/or the Yanks stop paying him when signs with the other club.

it would only cost the acquiring team a pro-rated portion of the minimum salary with the Yankees paying the remaining $26 million on his contract

(as the Yanks have already released AND paid him the reminder of his contract)

Yeah from what I have heard he's being released so he's free to do anything he wants. Holding a playoff spot I don't see Miami wanting to do anything with him and Tampa would only be doing it as a possible gate attraction while they allow him to chase homers.

Hosts and callers on WFAN has been debating it for days. It's certainly a good sports discussion but when it comes down to the teams themselves I just don't see who would be compelled to want to being Arod in. Overall though yeah even with the Olympics it's a slow sports time until football gets underway.

The Lord doesn't want him, and the Devil doesn't know what to do with him. There will be many Yankee Fans on board tomorrow not to praise A-rodham but to make sure he gets the hell out of town.
