Per Bill Madden, the Yanx will not have to pay ARod the debated milestones bonuses. Also the "marketing bonuses" by MLB/MLBPA are not allowed as part of the actual player's contract. The marketing bonuses were part of a completely marketing separate agreement between the Yanx and ARod. And after the scandal of last year a marketing agreement is now useless according to the Yanx.
...if ARod chooses to file a grievance via the MLBPA over this, he will then have to testify under oath, something he is probably not willing to do.
...ARod also reportedly told his own lawyers that "he cannot play without steroids".

...ARod's island is growing smaller and smaller and his house of cards is crumbling.

WOW....... I had not heard the latest news on this issue, thanks for sharing this 59.....!!! As usual your ahead of you time, and others times too.....LOL...!

Damn, I'm thrilled to hear all of this. I too cannot foresee A-Roid testifying at all, he'd make a bigger ass out of himself.

Happy to hear this. I really hated the thought of rewarding this idiot.

Awesome find 59. Nice to know these are decoupled and separate contracts. Any legal battle over the milestone bonuses would get ugly...for ARod. Now he apparently has some level of immunity from the Feds via the DEA, but that testimony or similar subject matter would have to be publicly disclosed as this is a civil dispute.

At least the Yanks spent money on good attorneys this off season, lol!

Beats the hell out of all the other good moves they've made so far.

...exactly.

I still think A-roid retires in the spring after he sees that he sucks and will blame it on his hips and get the medical disability. Saw a recent picture of A-rod and he looks like Giambi did the spring he came in and said he lost "4 lbs when he obviously to everyone else lost 40 due to getting off the roids". A-roid is done and he knows it.

...^^^agreed, but I'm thinking ARod needs to make an effort and give the impression that he is at least trying to return. And when he fails, (and he will) and proves that he's no longer physically able to play, the Yanx will be able to get up to 80% of his contract reimbursed from the insurance policy that has always been in place.

...ARod gets his $61 Mil and can ride off into the sunset...and it will only cost the Yanx $16 Mil.

I would love to see that, as well as A-Roid prove he's not capable of being the DH, let alone his aspirations (off the wall) to play any position. We all know he can't do either, Yet, A-Roid is the only fool, who thinks otherwise....

Can someone maybe take him deep sea fishing while in Tampa, out into that polluted Gulf, while trying on a new pair of cement boots......

Bill Madden- HOF baseball "writer"..... picked Texas twice vs the Torre Yankees in the playoffs.

He should personally lay flowers at Boss George's gravesite at least on a yearly basis.

...yeah, Madden was the only writer to pick Texas...I'm flattered that you seem to stalk every thread/post I make and arbitrarily take the opposite view.

...the obsession continues.

I'm anxious to see how this Arod thing plays out.
It's easy to assume he's washed up but I happen to be one in the minority who feels he just may, possibly have enough personal and professional pride.. and just enough physical capabilities to show and prove he belongs on the team as a legitimate contributor.

...the last time we saw ARod at bat he was totally overmatched...he could not catch up with an inside FB and could not lay off a low and away breaking ball...he had become a strike out machine.
...by the time opening day gets here he will have been away for nearly 2 years...there's no reason to think he will miraculously be any better.

I think were all looking forward to seeing A-Roid fall on His Face, without his Vitamin S Juice....

and

1- Yes you are the only one....who believes A-Roid can re-invent himself, but only as a bat boy or Clubhouse Janitor...!!!

2- What Phsycial capabilities are you talking about? Two bad Hips, and name me one Infielder who has had both Hips Operated on, with the exact same surgeries as A=Fraud.....you can't as NO ONE has had those surgeries on BOTH hips let alone ONE, and came back to their regular position, or did as much, only to be a DFA or a mockery fool....stick a Fork in him already, he's going thru withdraws. A-Roid will be like Bonds almost when he comes back, a Fat Tub of Lard, but A-Roid will have zero power to hit a HR, let alone even regain his timing to bunt a ball.....

Fair enough. I certainly won't bet on him "winning" a spot on the opening day roster.
I hear ya loud and clear.

^^^the thing that makes the difference for me is that he persisted in denying everything and suing everyone. I've never been a big fan of his since his first PEDs admission.

...if he had come clean about the whole thing I'd probably be pulling for him to succeed but he's become such a liar and a phony and a polarizing prick, that I can't hope for anything but bad things for him...something that I don't typically do.

...when the dust settles I want to see him publicly and professionally humiliated and financially bankrupt.

I could not of said this any better than you articulated 59, my exact feelings as well....!!!

I question whether ARod ever possessed a smidgen of professionalism or pride.

The closest A-Roid has come to "Pride", is by listening to old Charlie Pride Records....!

Ask A-Fraud "what is professionalism, and he will respond, What Is That"?
