few years ago Dallas had nothing. got lots of assets through good trades got Donic and now back in the western finals. I wish we could have a rebuild like that but we gave away our assets for nothing.
The Mavs also benefited from the Hawks being incredibly stupid.

As well as the Suns and Kings.

Luka was the clear #1 pick that year and the Mavs got him for the 5th pick and change.

So what you’re essentially wishing for is us to get the 5th pick, then have the clear #1 pick drop to #3, and have the team at 3 trade us that pick for #5 and a future 1st.

The Mavs got lucky and were fortunate to have the 5th pick as well. Not much to do with good assets.

Mavs only have 4 players who have made more than 1 shot. Crazy. And Suns have 9.
Suns have basically been buried by 2 players- Dinwiddie and Luka.

Ime and Kidd, good enough to get to the conference finals in their first year, but not good enough to land an interview from Olshey. (note: I still don't want Kidd)

How the hell did Phoenix lose that series? 27 points in the first half of a game 7 at home against a very average defensive team!
That was a choke job.

Both of last year's Finalists blown out on the same day in Game 7's? Weird.

Damn, The Mavs fans don’t even care that they have a coach who used to abuse his wife. Looks like winning is everything .

The last 5 teams with the best record in the league have failed to reach the NBA Finals. The last three didn't even make it to the conference finals.

What he did was horrible but should he never be able to work again for the rest of his life? Forgiveness. Redemption.
