Because Klay is a huge ass guard.

Thompson 6-6 and Poole 6-4.

you guys are working really hard to diss the Blazers

"Klay is a huge-ass guard"....Josh Hart?

*******************

height: Poole 6′ 3.5”....Simons 6'2.25"
wingspan: Poole 6′ 6.75” ....Simons 6'9.25"
standing reach: Poole 8′ 3.5” ....Simons 8′ 3.5”
hand length: Poole 8.25”....Simons 8.75"
hand width: Poole 8.5”....Simons 9.0"

I don't think there is any appreciable difference in size between Simons and Poole. Simons was a year younger than Poole at the combine and it sure looks to me like Simons was more of a cub who grew into his paws

It's not like the Blazers are going with Dame-Simons-Napier. Hart is a physical guard and he's aggressive

I wasn't working hard at all. I thought he was referring to the three guard lineup that we had from the time Norm got here until he left. I didn't know we were trying a three guard lineup after the trade deadline or that we were even trying at all.

sure, there's a difference between a 3-guard lineup and a 3 guard rotation. The Warriors don't run Curry-Poole-Klay together that often, or at last they havent' so far. It's more a situational lineup depending on opponent and circumstance. Blazers can do that with Hart, although I'd prefer they don't too often

the more comparable situation is Curry + Poole compared to Dame + Simons

Context is important. Curry-Poole-Klay had barely played together prior to this week (I'm not sure how to look that up, but they don't show up in any of GS' top 3-man lineups on NBA.com), Poole was really just coming into his own when Curry went down for a month, and Curry is on a minutes restriction in a temporary reserve roll. There's no data there worth projecting on.

Dame-Ant-Hart haven't played together at all

Can’t wait to see that three guard lineup! You guys think it will be better then our previous one?

yes, I think Dame-Ant-Hart would be better than Dame-CJ-Powell. But I don't want that 3-guard lineup; I want that 3-guard rotation and am hoping for, at minimum a SF/PF combo of something like rookie (Murray/Mathurian/Griffin) & Grant. I think Portland would be a lot different than they have been for the last 8 seasons with a forward combo like that rather than RoCo/Powell or Bazemore/Melo or Aminu/Harkless

Klay is a full inch taller but i can give you Hart is younger and has room to improve while Klay is still coming off injury. Not sure I'm ready to compare the two just yet. Klay has a couple rings.

obviously, with Curry and Klay you're talking about superior talent. But the discussion was about 3 guards working together in situational lineups. If we're talking about size there isn't a big difference between the two sets. And there's essentially no difference between Curry/Poole and Dame/Ant

Saw on Linkedin Blazers are hiring a new Ticket Sales Manager.

They have a better defensive mindset as a team, have the coaching for it, and some nice defensive pieces that compliment their more offensive oriented players. The team defense is where it's at though. This is the goal. Look at Phoenix now compared to before CP joining. Booker was looked at like a better CJ. He was a genius at scoring, but people thought he was a negative defender, and weren't sure he could be the leader of a winning team. They added defensive pieces, upped their team defense, which Paul's BBIQ certainly helped, and moved to a different tier. Something like this is the goal.

So wtf was the issue with DMC and Barton last night? None of his teammates seemed pleased with him.
What stupid thing did he say now?

Saw that. Not in Barton's character to do that....quite sure Cousins spend his big mouth like usual

Pelicans rookies Jones and Murphy can defend and shoot. Can’t believe Cronin did not ask for one of them. He got Pritslapped
I'm definitely not on the Cronin bandwagon and think he has done poorly as interim and therefore should not be made the GM. I think he dropped the ball with all of the draft capitol that the Pelicans have not to secure better contingencies for if they made the playoffs. However we just don't know what efforts he made that he failed in. It would stand to reason that if the Pels liked CJ and Larry that Cronin would have asked about the availability of Jones, Murphy and Hayes all of whom would fill needs that we have and are young with upside.

Just like people who support Joe say that those of us who don't support him have no proof there were better deals out there, they actually have no proof that there weren't because we know through experience that not every exec in the league leaves no stone unturned. So there's a possibility that you're right and he didn't ask but I think the more likely thing is that he asked for things of teams and acquiesced far too easily to giving more talent than he received in return because his number one priority was cutting salary (just so he can spend it on guys already on the roster), create a big TPE and get that pick that slipped through his fingers. The guy did get unlucky but I don't think you can trade away the amount of valuable NBA rotation minutes per game that he did and only end up with what he did in return. I also don't think you can wager that amount of production even if it doesn't fit well on your team on getting lucky or not getting unlucky. Might not have asked, might not have played ruthlessly enough, might have let others decide the narrative that we were the desperate ones but whatever it was that he did, it didn't work out.

he may have asked for both of them, or one of them, and the Pels didn't cooperate. Besides that, no way were they trading Jones

Pelicans are not scared and got better. Great coach too. Imagine with a healthy Zion.

Me J has done his Me J shit too much but he's also come through with some clutch shots and if they didn't have him drawing attention from the opposing defense and had Hart instead, this team wouldn't be in this game at all.
