We really do need to do something about mental health in this country.

Yeah, thankfully (in some ways) from the words being used it doesn't sound like straight up racism because she said that her heritage is from slavery and Africa before that. With that said, it highlights that the biggest problem whether it's triggered by racism and the voice that media is giving to that or any other forms of hate, is a mental health crisis and a system that doesn't address it. They're about to roll out a squad car or two with anywhere from one to four beat cops that aren't trained mental healthcare professionals or social workers and are being asked the impossible task of changing their personal settings from peaceably inforcing laws on citizens who are compliant, to dealing with everyday angry/baligerent people who aren't planning on further breaking the law but don't respect the police, to life threatening situations, to mental health crises that they couldn't have enough training on assessing if they are to be taken as life threatening or acts of community outreach. It's a fucking mess with no easy solutions. I will say that expanding our societal view on the importance of an emphasis on mental health and expanding the scope of our mental health system is a step that has to be taken immediately.

I don't know the context of your post, if you're agreeing with me or not but I just don't think that it's fair to beat cops to ask them to approach so many incredibly different situations in so many different ways, many of which contradict the other approaches they would have to take for other situations.

I know in Portland there is now a mental health unit that can be dispatched instead of cops. I thinks it's still fairly new.

they made the WCF with Kanter, Aminu, Harkless, Curry, Turner, Meyers, and Layman in the rotation

that off-season, Olshey decided to replace them with Whiteside, Melo, Hezonja, Bazemore, Tolliver, Swanigan, & Skal. Olshey-vision was blind

Got rid of good players fans hated- Aminu, Harkless, Turner- and then delivered Whiteside, a player a lot of us wanted. We waited for Nurk/Zach to come back and made a fun run in the bubble. Then we brought back Hood, Kanter, and Melo and traded for Covington. Some thought that made us a contender. We had disappointing showing vs Denver.
