LOL.

But that did have merit as Portland was directly involved with it.

I would love to see that trade happen! Dubs would then be vulnerable. Davis is hurt often.

Nooooooo! because that's the thread that started the whole "HCP makes people quit or not join S2" remember? Remember? Because he "brags" about his job. We don't want to start bringing THAT stuff up again!

Yay, hes not last in each stat. Lmao.
Is THAT what you get from looking at those stats? I see a young kid who isn't having THAT bad of a rookie campaign. You don't see that?

He can't shoot and he can't defend his position. He does have the other skills, but none of his passing or rebounding will matter if he never learns to shoot and defend. Not in this era. Ricky Rubio is a brilliant passer and a very good defender and is still not a star, because his inability to shoot negates everything else.

Lmao, you can twist stats to tell any story.

So basically, as a PG who's only strength right now is passing:
-He has more APG (barely) then the most score-first PGs in the league.
-He's getting REB, which is irrelevant for a PG, and it's better to have PGs up the floor for a quick outlet than grabbing rebounds at the rim.
-He's getting more blocks than a soft C who's the worst shot blocker in the league.
-Woohoo, he gets a steal and a half a game, better than some Pgs. Yay!
- He has a better PER than another fellow rookie picked below him who's having a poor rookie season himself.
-He's shooting around league average from 3 for the past 5 weeks. That's good! Wait, no, that's a hand-picked sample just to find a stretch where he shot average.

His season is trash.

I've said this before, that makes his stats that much more impressive. He is doing this when EVERYBODY on earth knows he can't shoot. I'm not a huge fan, but I think when I see people blindly saying how much he "sucks" and is a "bust", it bugs a bit.

My eye test unfortunatley tells me Ball is going to end up a pretty damn good player. Not the result I was hoping for. He is a rookie running a team, which is the hardest position to run in the league. I hope he fails because he's a Laker, just don't see it happening. If his brothers dont make the league it could quiet his dad a little. Maybe.

Everytime I watch Ball he reminds me so much of Rubio as a rookie. Does pretty much everything Rubio did well except he can finish at the rim something Rubio can't. Rubio never really became what I thought he could become, Balls got a shot as long as he can somehow develop a semi reliable jumper.

Rubio would have been better if he had landed on a team with a better coaching staff to develop talent.

So because he can't shoot his 7 assists per game and his rebounding is more impressive?

He'll be decent but not a star. He'll be an average NBA PG, not someone worth taking at 2 in a loaded draft.

Khan and his coaching staff really ruined a LOT of careers before they had a chance.

A passing PG is only as good as the players he's passing too, as well as the number of additional layups he creates for a team.

A passing PG will get more assists when kicking out to better shooters. A passing PG who also can't create layups for others and not himself will have a lot of assists but won't be that productive, as most PGs can create layups for themselves and others, yet won't see the assist numbers as a passing PG because some of the layups are their own instead of someone else's.

Passing PGs are overrated, as a lot of a passing PGs additional assists (compared to a scoring PGs) would come as a product of a good offensive and ball movement, which would rely less on one player creating offense for others as it would from team offensive and sharing the ball.

His assists are. When you play somebody who can't shoot, you sag off. It's a natural reaction. In spite of that he is getting dimes. His outlets on the break look like Kevin Love and Kidd. He has court vision, flat out. Shit he'd average 11 dimes if some of his teammates could finish. He's not going to be a star I don't think, never said he would. But it's ridiculous to call him "trash". That list I posted shows he's doing a better job at things on the court than many all stars. Not bad for a kid 18 months out of HS.

I bet you Lillard has way more assists per pass than him. "His 7APG is more impressive because of his horrible efficiency" is a weird take.

Btw, sagging off makes it easier to pass, not harder.

He is going to be good but not amazing and not better than quite a few players who went below him in the draft. Tatum and Mitchell are far ahead now, Fox is IMO better as well, then Jackson, Isaac, Smith, Markkanen look to be at similar level.

Quick check in on how Fultz shot is coming along and OOOHHHHH GODDDD NOOOO ITS UGLY

Agreed! He was picked way to high. We can thank the hype and the Lakers for that :)

He's not a star, but a really good young player. Unfortunately.
