Spurs Tried Really Hard To Trade For Kyrie Irving

When Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cavaliers, he mentioned the Knicks, Wolves and Spurs as teams he would like to be moved to.

Irving was ultimately traded to the Celtics, but the Spurs were one of the teams active in trying to acquire him.

"San Antonio tried really really hard to get him," said Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Spurs' main trade chips in the offseason were LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green.

San Antonio already had re-signed Patty Mills by that point in the offseason while Tony Parker was rehabbing his injury from the playoffs.

If you think Stotts is a Bad Coach, then read this: "Jason Kidd ACTUAL postgame: Reporter: You’ve had struggles against big centers this season. What can you guys work on doing when Valanciunas and other physical centers start dominating the game? Kidd: Well, hope the other team takes them out. That’s about all you can do. " that's Why the Bucks fans hate Kidd hahah. Maybe they are interested in Ed Davis or hopefully Meyers who can also shot, they need Shooting

Is there video of this? I'd have to hear it in his voice... could really be sarcastic.

Pelicans are struggling. Davis needs a change of scenery
I wonder if he and Lillard are close since they came from the same draft class. It would be cool if they had their own little banana boat thing going on.

5 days ago, Tim Quarterman signed with Greg Oden's old Chinese team. He had done nothing since Houston waived him in preseason. Festus Ezeli started walking 3 months ago in late September.

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived Andrew Bogut.

Bogut will have the opportunity to seek a roster spot on a playoff contender.

The Lakers were faced a deadline to guarantee Bogut's contract for the remainder of the season.

In 24 games with the Lakers, Bogut averaged 1.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 68 percent shooting.

Any interest in Bogut?

Bogut will go to San Antonio.

I wonder if last year's free agency class just overall sucked; maybe we freed up all our money in the wrong year. I know Boston got Horford, but Atlanta got Howard and got rid of him within a year. We targeted Whiteside and now I read he is not playing fourth quarters. Made me wonder if he is just a rich man's Joel Przbilla so I looked at some stats. Pryzz had three years of plus three blocks per 36. Whiteside last year and this: 2.3 and 2.0. Their field goal percentages are similar and Przbilla free throw % in his later years were as good as Whiteside's. Whiteside definitely the better rebounder with 14, 15 and 16 in his last three years while Przbilla only had 3 years of plus 12 (all per 36). But overall not that much difference. And they signed him at 24.6 million a year.

I think Whiteside is very good. Great rebounder, protected the rim, is not completely useless in the paint offensively but it's definitely not what he is out there for.

A lot of players got overpaid in 2016 but he was one of the best who received a great contract that year.
