That was hilarious too. Last thing you want to do is put yourself in a position to be put in a headlock. Whats his face could've easily squeezed and hurt AA.
If a dude is in a headlock that long after swing that hard, he's probably going to wake up in a few minutes not remembering much.

Maybe i'm wrong here but i have always looked at the Around the NBA thread as kind of a chat room type thread that doesn't ever really stay on topic?
Kind of drifts all over the place like a dog looking for where he buried his bone....

I wasn't criticizing you or anyone else, just taking the opportunity to make a joke. My moderation tends to be a joke, ask anyone (especially PapaG).

I thought Mrs. HCP was usually where (slypoker)dog buries his bone. :dunno:

One Direction hasn't been the same since he left.

I had to google that shit. The fact that you know says a lot!

Lots of folks in here were clamoring for Neil to take him. Imagine if he did. Y'all would be at the fountain with torches and pitchforks.
I was one of them, and still am. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about Zach, but I think Giles is on the Joel Embiid program of being an NBA rookie. I'd be ok with that. It's not like any0ne thought he was going to play much this year, anyway.

I know it sucked for us, but how did Blake Griffin, Embiid, Noel and Simmons work out for their teams?

Only that he's not.

Right before his sophomore year of high school, Giles tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee, the same knee that he had surgery on in 2016.
November of 2015, in the opening game of his senior year, Giles tore his right ACL. He underwent surgery both times for those previous knee injuries.

I'm so glad we passed on him.

I'm still wondering if the Clippers are going to completely combust and if Neil is gonna go after Griffin? Maybe Griffin ends up a Blazer.

No i have not done a trade machine and i have no idea how they would do it.

Not if the rockets get into the locker room first and blaze him.

LMAO The pelicans have 2 all star starters ? Get that shit outta here
They absolutely deserve it. Davis and Cousins are the two best bigs in the west. Who should be starting ahead of them? KAT and Aldridge?

Not that you specifically asked me but I have no problem that Davis is starting. But yes, Towns should be starting over Cousins. In pure stats Cousins wins. In Advanced Stats Towns is the better choice.

But of course, the game is for the fans so they don't care about that nerdy stuff. I don't have enough of a problem to throw a fit about it but if you were looking for just most deserving period (which once again, we aren't really) then Towns is the correct choice imo.

Random thought--I saw a fan-post suggesting that the Cavs should try to deal their Brooklyn pick for Kemba Walker, and I think there could be a match there. It would be fascinating to see him play SG alongside IT, and then PG with Wade and their bench unit. Going further, if the Cavs were to explore a Hornets deal and sought to go all in on one more playoff run this year before Lebron inevitably leaves, they could conceivably deal for Dwight as well--still rebounding and defending well, despite the public perception.

If you were Cleveland's GM, would you try to deal BRK-pick/Thompson/Frye/Filler for Kemba/Dwight? If you were Cho, would you be interested in such a deal?

So it looks like the “team’s record” isn’t in the mix anymore when it comes to being an all star. Which I totally agree with by the way. Back in the day when Love was putting up 30/20 games on a shit team, people used to say he didn’t deserve to be an all star. It’s not Dame’s fault we are a .500 team for example. All Star game is just a glorified summer pick up game anyway. I love watching it for THAT reason.

Appreciate the response. I agree that there's an argument for KAT over Cousins, but I think it's worth noting that KAT's role on his team has actually shrunk this year. Tough for me to put a team's 4th option (yes, that's where he ranks in usage on the Wolves) as an ASG starter. IMO, his defense, while decent, isn't good enough to justify that. Cousins' advanced stats suffer from being the first option on a mediocre team--much like Dame's do. Look at the "shooting" numbers on bkref for each of Davis, Towns, and Cousins. Both Davis and Towns are assisted on about 2/3 of their field goals; Cousins on closer to 40%. Suggests to me that he's having to do a whole lot more for himself. I give him extra credit for that, personally.
