Didn't Durant take less money to play for the Warriors?

This is pure nonsense, they are not going to trade any of Curry, Durant and Green, and trading Klay will not be enough to get Davis.

I wonder if they can get Davis without trading any of their big 4. Package a bunch of picks and expiring contracts. After all, it only took Buddy Hield to land Cousins.

Curry/Klay/Durant/Green/Davis is a pretty good team.

Curry/Young/Durant/Davis/Bell is an improvement

Is it? No way is Nick Young even on the same planet as Klay Thompson (in spite of what Swaggy P may think).

While Davis is better on paper than Green, Green is DPOY and is the engine that makes GSW go. Remove him and you force Steph Curry back into the tradition PG role. He's not bad at it, but he's way better when he can spend significant time playing off the ball, and running the offense through him full time leads to fatigue and injuries.

Plus Davis isn't as durable as Green.

Their picks are almost worthless, they will be a great team for the next 4-5 years, and this will be no. 30 every single season.

Buddy Hield and no. 10 plus the fact that Kings got to keep their no. 5 for Cousins with 18 months left on his contract and some serious character issues. It's fair to say Davis will cost a lot more.

He will go to Celtics in the Summer IMO if Pelicans don't make playoffs or don't resign Cousins. Boogie's injury will really hurt them.

Personally, if this doesnt get verified by the time i get home tonight, im moving it. Otherwsie, it doesnt deserve its own thread, quite frankly.

I was just going to ask if the Crazy Trade Ideas thread was POR specific.

Klay and Dray might be enough to get the deal done, honestly. But I don't know if that necessarily makes the Warriors that much better, or at all better.

It is since theres lots of trades involving portland. This one would fit more in the around the nba as it is

1) not portland related

2) an un-verified rumor.

Is this the same source that said Portland was trading for Brook Lopez?
Aka your ps4/xbox1

The original incarnation of this rumor was that the Warriors might consider moving Green and Thompson offseason after next. This made some sense if you believed that the Warriors can't afford four mega-max deals. So, instead, you consolidate two of them into one better player and pay three mega-max deals. Massive savings, maybe not that much worse on the floor. Green and Thompson combined are worth more on the floor than Davis, but Davis is better than either and consolidating talent into less roster spots carries its own benefits. Plus Davis is younger (though more of a health risk).

But this coming off-season, when Thompson isn't yet up for mega-max deal, I don't see them moving two big parts of their all-time team for just one, risky (due to health) player. I mean, they might try to see if the Pelicans would go for something goofy like Thompson/Bell/McCaw for Davis--that's a fair amount of value, but Boston should be able to trump it pretty easily.

If I'm NOP and considering this, I'm getting Klay and Dray, insisting the W's take Solomon Hill and Etwaun Moore as well, and having Nick Young included in the deal to make salaries match. If the Warriors are serious about wanting to pair Davis and Durant, that's the cost, and I'm not budging.

No way this happens (GS isn't even considering it until/if they lose in the finals), but I actually would love to see it. Davis is fragile. He would not make GS better being on the bench a 3rd or more of the season. You could say doesn't matter as long as he plays the playoffs but that could be the 3rd he misses.

Well, the only reason the Warriors make a trade like this is to save salary, without losing too much of their fastball on the floor. If your demand is that they not even get the salary cutting benefit, then yeah, I imagine Golden State wouldn't be interested. Which is probably fine for New Orleans, since they won't lack for suitors.

I would assume the main reason for the Warriors making a trade like this is to obtain the best player in the deal. If they think they're going to do that and save money, then I think they'll be sorely disappointed.
