During the grizzlies pelicans game today the grizzlies announcer said that Popovic is more concerned with the health of the team than winning the last two games.
They also mentioned that the Spurs have won more games on the road than at home this season.

Man, the Pels really are like the Stotts' Blazers in some ways. They beat bad teams but their defense gets sliced up by good teams even more than ours' did.

the Pels last 5 wins have been against Lakers-Blazers-Lakers-Kings-Blazers. They had the easiest part of their schedule at a perfect time

Spurs have little chance to beat the Pels, at Pels, if Murray is out

This says he's out tonight for reconditioning purposes, so it looks like the illness is behind him and given the other guys that the Spurs are sitting, I think they're going to have those guys practicing and hopefully rested and ready to go against the Pels. So, let's just hope they can beat the Pels and they're as close to full strength as possible to do it.

well, the Spurs do have one big advantage:

Warriors need to beat the Pels to secure the 3rd seed

It's worth remembering that they are playing without one of their best players ,Brandon Ingram.

I don't remember their defense being that good with Brandon Ingram, though, either.

They just beat the Pelicans on the road in the last couple of weeks after losing to them at home.

Kevin Love scored 32 points and 10 rebounds in 14 minutes. He hit 8 threes.

The Celtics putting all their starters just to play the Nets… lol. They should tank for the 3rd seed instead of the 2 seed

I looked it up. No player has ever done 32/10 in less than 15 minutes. So impressive. Nets will have their hands full with Cleveland.

I don't think the Nets will have much problem. They have players that can turn it on when they want to.

so, not that the Laker season is over, 3 questions:

) have the Lakers ever made a worse trade than the Westbrook trade?

) what other trades, for any teams, have seemingly altered the team's trajectory to the negative as much as that Westbrook trade?

) is any Blazer poster here, other than That-HCP, not just laughing at the Lakers?

That first trade for Howard was pretty bad?

even before context, it looks like the Westbrook trade was worse

KCP, Kuzma, and Harrell are all solid role players and OK starters. By the way, Isaiah Jackson averaged 8 pts, 4 rbs, and 1.4 blks in 15 minutes this season.

but more than that, it sure looks like the addition of Westbrook, and his contract, caused the Lakers to NOT re-sign Dennis Schroder, Alex Caruso, and Markieff Morris...all guys that contributed to that Laker championship

so then, it was Westbrook instead of

KCP
Kuzma
Harrell
Schroder
Caruso
Morris
Isaiah Jackson

That's 18.5 pts (Westbrook) vs 87 pts (those gone)
That's 1.7 winshares vs 18.7 winshares

just going by winshares you could argue that the Lakers could have won at least 50 games this year without the trade , and that's with Caruso missing half the season...which he probably wouldn't have if he didn't meet Grayson Allen while in a Bulls uniform

Nice Job.
I was just thinking it was bad. I really didn't think on a comparison level.
No question the Westbrook trade was ugly.

Tanks don’t always work FAMS

that's isn't because of the "tank"...it's because they were fucking idiots

* they drafted Biyombo when Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, and Tobias Harris were available
* they drafted TRob when Dame was available
* they drafted McLemore when Giannis, CJ, Steven Adams, & Gobert were available
* They drafted Stauskas when Zach LaVine, Nurkic, Jokic, Capela, and Dinwiddie were available
* They drafted Willy Cauley-Stein when Devin Booker, Myles Turner, Kelly Oubre, and Bobby Portis were available
* They drafted Marquis Chriss when Sabonis, Caris LeVert, Siakam, Dejounte Murray, and Malcolm Brogdon were available
* They traded away a 10th pick when Bam Adebayo & Donovan Mitchell were there and used the 15th pick on Justin Jackson instead of John Collins or Jarrett Allen
* They drafted Bagley when Luka Doncic, Jaren Jackson, Trae Young, SGA, and Miles Bridges were available

that's right...they did all that in 8 consecutive drafts. They could have a lineup of

Dame
Booker
Kawhi
Giannis
Jokic

with Doncic, Siakam, and Adebayo coming off the bench. Sure...they might have paid some luxury tax for that (less than a billion), but they'd be working on their 8th straight championship right now

the tank did it's job...the front office didn't

I’m saying getting lottery picks aren’t the cure. Maybe staying a 45-50 win team and making the playoffs every year isn’t THAT bad.

LOL...c'mon man

just how is it that the Blazers were a playoff team for 8 consecutive seasons? Think hard now (don't hurt yourself)...did you say Dame?...ding!ding!ding!...that's a winner!

and just how did the Blazers land Dame? now, I might have this wrong but isn't a 6th pick a lottery pick?
