Here's a quickie version:

So, OKC added Paul George and Carmelo Anthony to their roster and over $41.5 million to their payroll, plus a pending $24 million luxury tax bill, and they won ONE more game than last year. So, that ONE additional win cost them $55.5 million.

I don't know where else to post it. I can't find way to post at RealGM. I can post on IG and Twitter though.

What makes it even funnier is that since the Blazers got under the tax line the Blazers get a cut of that money and finished ahead of them.

It's likely to get worse for them, too. I've been predicting since the beginning of the season that PG3 moves on this summer and Carmelo opts in for outrageous $$$ for several more years. Youtuber Coach Nick (bballbreakdown) has been railing against Carmelo in a bunch of his videos. Apparently, the Thunder are much better when Carmelo is off the floor.

So NOT the problem. Shitty, unbalanced roster and Porzingis tears his ACL and they fire the coach. Will that franchise ever be relevant again?

They've swept away the last remnants of the Old Republic (i.e. the Triangle Offense).

I think they would've been in playoffs if Porzingis hadn't gotten hurt. They have some decent talent to surround him with.

Carmelo can only opt in for one more year (at nearly $28 million). And if they lose in the first round Paul George is out of there quicker than shit through a goose. So, next year it will be the Russ and Melo show - two of the most inefficient volume scorers in the league.

Plus, even after losing George for nothing, they will be over the cap and hard pressed to add any quality players to their bloated payroll.

Exactly (btw, you're right. They only need to put up with Carmelo 1 more year.)
