Holy shit, is that real? Looks like she's taken steroids.
Is Paul Allen A Road Warrior?

I don't really want to go through this whole deal with Durant. Even if he suddenly decides to consider the Blazers we're still more likely to run into a scenario with Aldridge and Phoenix last year where he spurns us at the last minute. I'd rather use the time to chase free agents we could actually get. Even Al Horford is a more realistic target if you want to shoot for the moon.

With the RFA period being cut down to 3 days there's even less time to waste getting commitments from UFA. I don't want to run into a scenario where we have to let Crabbe or Harkless walk because Durant is twiddling his thumbs.
I don't think Olshey is dumb like the Suns GM. I doubt Olshey would aign some aging player to appease Durant if he has not signed the dotted line.

They also made stupid moves like dumping Morris because they thought they had a chance. Not even signing Chandler, but the other guys they could have signed if they didn't wait for Aldridge to make his decision.

Agreed on this. Olshey has great relationships with both players and agents around the league (the latter is crucial). He won't commit to going all in on Durant unless he knows we can sign him. This won't be a Bosh to HOU scenario where Morey dumped multiple, useful players and basically gutted his roster to clear cap space only to be rejected by Bosh.

Olshey will gauge the interest and act accordingly. If he knows he can't hit a home run, he'll go for a double and a couple singles.

That's a good one, Camby too.

God that season was a complete nightmare I don't even like talking about it.
Pretty sure Nic was a FA that summer too. Really poorly constructed bandaid team.

Thank God, Billy King saved us that spring.

Oh, shit. Durant the featured player in Stotts' offense? It's a match made in heaven. And try double teaming Dame and CJ now. Or Durant. And Durant has to know life playing with Dame would be so much more enjoyable than his current situation. I don't know how players think, but if I were in Durant's shoes Portland would be a dream destination, and money wouldn't even factor into it.

Annnnd, if he does come here, our PG/SG/SF would all have history of major foot injuries. Brook Lopez coming next.

heh

Different team, different scenario and most of all, different GM.

The Suns were on a downward trend. They've gone from 48 wins to 39 wins to 23 wins. For them, the Aldridge play was a desperation move to reverse the trend - which it would have had it worked. It was a long shot, but it's not like they were going to contend with the likes of Marcus Morris. PHO was going to be a lottery team without Aldridge anyway. If they would have gotten him, they would have been right back in the playoffs. But, since they didn't, they end up with a higher draft pick to help their rebuild.

POR is an up and coming team - not desperately trying to avoid bottoming out. Olshey already insured that won't happen. We are on an upward trend, So, I don't see Olshey making any desperation moves that will set us back to square 1.

Will he go after Durant? I'm sure he'll look into it, but he won't put all his eggs in one basket. I'm sure he already has a back up plan in place, as well as a back up to his back up plan.

Sure, I'd love to see us get Durant. What fan wouldn't? But if we don't, I look forward to seeing who we do get. This team is young and exceeded expectations by a wide margin, but still has some glaring holes. Olshey has a ton of cap space to work with and has been slowly acquiring assets (like the 1st round pick from CLE) that give him additional bargaining chips. It will be interesting to see what moves he makes to fill those holes and how it all comes together next season.

Hey, I hear Boogie has bad feet!

People are forgetting about KD a bit. I feel like he's gonna have a massive game tonight.

Also, dude needs to gtfo this summer. That franchise has stagnated and (unlike us), they don't have the front office talent or stability to rebuild on the fly.

INDEED! If he doesn't become a Blazer, he needs to go to an Eastern team not named the Celtics (I hate all Boston teams, but not the city).

God, I want Paul Millsap in a Blazers jersey next year. That chase down block on Love was bad ass.

Of course, I wanted to draft Millsap with our 30 or 31st pick back in 2006. We ended up passing on Millsap 4 times between 27 and 45 in that draft. Not one of the four guy we drafted is still in the NBA.

Tie game. I'm having mixed feelings. I want the Cavs to lose, but I also want the Hawks to blow it up so we have a chance at Millsap. No way do they even think about blowing it up if they upset the Cavs.

At least we tried to get him when he was a RFA...and made him a rich man. Maybe he still has some appreciation for that and will sign here.

Any chance of ATL blowing it up probably went out the window when they got past BOS. Although, if Horford walks, it may be the first domino to fall, like Aldridge's exit was in POR last year.

He's got another year in his current contract. I want him THIS summer. Oh well, I'd "settle" for Horford.

I wanna see what Schroder can do with 35+ minutes a game. If I'm Philadelphia I'm offering one of my bigs and a pick for him. Could see him dropping 18 and 8.

He's looking real good tonight.

Manu wraps up Robertson but holds on to help prevent him from getting out of control and taking a fall.

Very refreshing to see in a post season where Morris tried to dislocate loves shoulder, CP3 and Verajao make dangerous plays tripping and pulling players down to the ground, somebody tries to take Westbrook out with an elbow, and Durant thinking an eye for an eye is a fair strategy.

Spurs are all class, and for that reason alone I find it hard to cheer against them.
