Talk about hack a whoever is in the paint combo
If Howard signs with LAC I think they would trade Jordan for a SF.

How crazy would it be if they traded him to Dallas.

CP3
Reddick
Parsons
Griffin
Howard

That's a really solid s5, but depth would continue to be a problem for them.

When asked if he wanted to stay in Atlanta he said yes, he likes it there. He didn't necessarily come out and say "I want to stay in Atlanta", which in my book is different.

Then again it's not like he said he wants to retire as the greatest Hawk, so maybe he will stay...

Here's another article.

Horford: ‘I really love the city’

Al Horford was not ready to think about his future.

Not minutes after the Hawks were swept from the NBA playoffs by the Cavaliers for the second straight year. However, the longest-tenured Hawks player will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The center will be coveted on the open market. The Hawks have the cap space to sign the veteran to a maximum five-year deal. Those are all issues to be worked out in the coming months.

Although he may have played his last game in a Hawks uniform, on Sunday night Horford just wanted to think about one more team meeting. The Hawks will have exit interviews and locker clean out on Monday.

“I’m not thinking about that,” Horford said. “We just had a tough loss. My main priority tomorrow is to meet with the team and the coaches one last time (for the season) and go from there and figure out how we can be a better group.”

Horford did answer a question about his time in Atlanta. He has been with the organization for nine seasons after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of the University of Florida.

“It means a lot,” Horford said of Atlanta. “I’ve set up here with my family. We all live here. We live here in the summer. We live here year-round. I’m very grateful for all the people here. They have taken me in from the very first day, even though I was a Gator. They loved me. I really love the city.”

I still think you could pull countless articles just like this during a star players last season with the team. This is how it usually happens, rarely do you get somebody like Lebron who shits on the city and leaves disrespectfully.

Portland is going to be a very enticing destination for him, we need HIM and what HE does. Not even a player like him, we need him. He's the one, and Dame, Olshey, and Allen will make this known to him.

Horford will be a Blazer next season!

That will certainly depend on his priorities. I think Riverman is right. It will depend more if the Hawks want him back.

I also think he would love to get back to playing the 4 which won't happen with Millsap there.

I guess there is a chance Horford stays with Atlanta, but I'll pretty much guarantee you that Millsap gets traded if he does.

Atlanta looks destined to blow things up. Here are their free agents for the next 2 years.

2016 Free Agents
Restricted
None

Unrestricted
Kent Bazemore
Kirk Hinrich
Kris Humphries
Al Horford

2017 Free Agents
Restricted
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Lamar Patterson
Dennis Schroder

Unrestricted
Kyle Korver
Paul Millsap (P)
Mike Muscala
Mike Scott
Thabo Sefolosha
Tiago Splitter
Jeff Teague

Seems like either they blow it up this year, or risk losing a lot for nothing if they give this team one more try.

Here's a link to a lengthy SB Nation article arguing against blowing it up.

They need to blow it up. They could get a ton for their Millsap and Teague.
- Millsap to Sacremento for Cauley-Stein, McLemore and their draft pick
-Teague to Utah for Rodney Hood and their pick

A Schroder/Hood/Cauley-Stein core would be a good one to build around with 2 lotto picks..

This current squad is never gonna win a ring.
Seems pretty logical to me.

No waaaaaay Utah trades Hood for Teague. No way. Teague isn't a star, but Hood could one day be an All-Star, and Utah still has Exum.

That was a good article, but I'm still not sold on Horfords FA being Marc Gasol like in the sense that he's going into it with the intention of signing a max with the Hawks. Horford might at least meet with other teams.

It's funny that they mention Memphis, because that's ANOTHER team that needs to blow it up

I think Conley is out, so Memphis is going to be left with an injured Marc Gasol and an aging Zach Randolph. They need to trade those two for the best value possible and start over.

Has OKC played Adams and Kanter together a lot this year? I thought that worked pretty well for them last night against Duncan and LMA. It would not work against GS, but against bigger teams those two, along with Durant, Westbrook and Waiters, looked effective.

We will find out in the next month and a half or so. I would like to have Horford here, so I did a little background check to see more of the personal side of Horford. I thought I would share some of those articles.

Going home isn't always a great move. That said, it looked to me like it was Parker that blew the game for the Spurs.

Wow. I know that is from January, but just wow. Is this a legit site? We would almost be considered "classy" in that forum.

That is the biggest spurs message board site. They are as tasteless as they come. I hate going over there.

I wonder if we could get Marc if Conley left.

I would love to get him.... but A) what is his health like, and B) how much would it cost? I would do Plumlee/Vonleh but that's really all we could afford.

Marc Gasol + Terry Stotts + Damian Lillard + CJ McCollum seems like an offensive wet dream, but I can't see it happening....

If Conley leaves, that team is sunk. They really should move Gasol and Randolph.

With that said, I'm not sure Plumlee+Vonleh would be enough. I'm not even sure if Plumlee+Vonleh+Aminu would be enough.
