Yeah I would too. He plays with an edge. The fact he is 225 lbs even allows him to play SF..... at times.
Obviously getting him would be tough, so I am hoping Wade Baldwin can be a poor man's version. At 202 lbs they are not exactly the same body type, but he is two years younger and will get better.
Yeah, Baldwin is my new :smiley-drzifige:

Really hope he works out.

Marcus Smart has a similar build (a little shorter) and tenacity that Mathews had when he was with us. He's undersized to play much small forward though but could in certain situations.

Wade B has stayed here in town and has been working out a bunch with the strength and conditioning crew. Good sign if you ask me. Sounds like he is focused.

It's nice to have some of these players around that haven't made it yet and have that hunger to be an NBA player. It's the difference of having to go out in the real world and work or be set for life if you invest wisely and can carve out a 10 year or more career.

I understand that standing reach helps on D, but hell Smart weighs more than our starting SF and PF.
I agree he is undersized but a lot of factors come into play in being a good defender and Smart IMO possesses a lot of them.

My guess is a lot of that has to do with Dame. Dame lives in Portland year round from what I understand.

HOU better win tonight if they don't want this series to end in a quick manner.

Don't knock Love, he lives near me in the off season.

I'll knock Love all I want.
His father is a grade A douchebag and Love is an entitled bitch because of it.
eff him and his father. never want to see love in a blazer uniform.

Seems some might have prematurely written Houston off.. I think this one could go 6 or 7 games. It will be interesting to see what Houston can do at GS.

Since when is a players, (or anyones for that matter) father's character, a pre requisite to be a professional or solid person.
Some of the most talented and nicest people I know had pop's that were a holes, or they had no father at all.

Lots of people who went to school with K-Love have posted over the years that they can't stand the guy. I don't really care. If it helps the Blazers, get him. When he was a stat whore on the Wolves I didn't want him period, but I do think Love has matured and become a more willing role player than in his TimberWolves days. I'll say again: If it helps the team, get him.

In addition....people do change from when they were in high school.....Maybe KLove has matured? I have no idea other than what I see during his interviews, and he seems to have matured since his UCLA days. Maybe some of the criticism has humbled him.

Having said that he will be 30 before next season, I think I would stick with Collins.

Love is old and injury prone. I'd stick with Collins as well.

But Collins has shown flashes, Love is actually a proven player. Like him or not, he’s a proven commodity with a ring, if you can have Love and Collins, Love could actually help Collins become a better player.

He has a ring because he played with Bron. :dunno:

It’s not like Love rode the bench to it though he was playing, has experience being on that stage has seen what it takes to get there (Lebrons work ethic), and right now Love is better than Collins. Not that Collins can’t get there.
