Pretty sure Russ already has that one on lock down. 22 games into his 11th season, he has 3059 TOVs. Payton, in 13 full seasons had 2507. In 9 seasons, Durant had 2083. In 12 seasons, Nate McMillan had 1486.

I assumed as much as well--just wanted to see the list.

Forget OKC, did we really just go from 1st to 8th in a little over 2 weeks? Has that ever been "accomplished" before, other than like the first couple weeks of the season?

WAS was also 1-7 when they played.

The only other >.500 team they beat was GSW (12-7) without Curry and Green at the end of GSW's only 4 game losing streak since Feb 2013 (a season and a half before they hired Steve Kerr).

To their credit, at least they beat the Wiz when they only had 1 win and didn't get blown out against the Warriors with Green/Curry out.

Stuff like this is such bullshit. I'm happy for D-Rose, that he's having a great comeback year, but in no way is he close to playing at an MVP level (which is implied).

Compare the actual numbers:

2010-11: 25.0 ppg, 7.7 apg, 4.1 rpg
2018-19: 18.4 ppg, 4.4 apg, 3.1 rpg

Also, consider in 2010-11 Rose was the indisputable best player on a team that won a league best 62 games. Being the best player on the best team automatically vaults you into MVP consideration. Being the 2nd or 3rd best player on a .500 team does not.

League wide scoring is up 11% compared to 2010-11. in 2010-11, Kevin Durant led the league in scoring at 27.7 ppg, and there were only two players in the entire league that averaged over 26 ppg (Durant at 27.7 and LeBron at 26.7). James Harden currently leads the league in scoring at 30.6 ppg and Durant is currently second at 30.0 ppg and Seth Curry is 3rd at 29.4 ppg. There are currently 9 players averaging over 26 ppg. If you adjust Rose's 25.0 ppg for inflation, that is equivalent to 27.7 ppg in today's higher scoring NBA. In other words, 25.0 ppg in 2010-11 is MUCH more impressive than 18.4 ppg in 2018-19.

Rather than comparing his current per-36 numbers to his MVP season, Rose fans should be lobbying for him to win 6th Man of the Year. That's much more realistic.

Additionally, Rose was the ultimate closer back then, basically being the prototypical scoring guard that could always go 1-on-1 and get his own shot to finish out games. Per-36 stats don't do a good job of capturing the when and how of it.

Yeah, his comeback, after all the injuries is inspiring, but to suggest he's playing at, or anywhere near, the same level he was in 2010-11 is just flat out wrong.

He also played passable defense that season. It helped that he had great defenders playing beside and behind him, but that was the only season of his career where his DBPM wasn't negative. It's currently -2.4, and his DRtg of 116 is the worst (among rotation players) and a very bad defensive team.

Still, I do think, if he continues to produce like he has been, he deserves to be in the conversation for 6th Man of the Year.

Nice read on Vonleh. Brief mentions of Portland via Ed Davis.

Also it was mentioned during a Knicks broadcast that the coaching staff adjusted Vonleh's shot so that he releases at the highest point. Part of why he is shooting 40%+ from 3's. Makes you wonder...

Why wonder anymore? Just go look at Layman on the fucking bench and you know Terry the reason Vonleh didn't do shit here.

Bro I’m getting sick of you trying to use stats and common sense to prove me wrong day in and day out. You are one step closer to being out on IGNORE.

Hey @HCP, another impressive win by OKC tonight. All it took was 47 points from Paul George and a big 4th quarter comeback to vanquish the mighty 8-18 Brooklyn Nets.

You need to start an Is OKC for Real thread.

Don't know anyone who saw this but it sounds like he quit after the first quarter................or he trusts the process??

I really hope Ayton and Zion don’t end up teaming up in Phoenix, that will be depressing if they get their big 3 through the draft that quick(Booker being the other)
Booker is overrated. Somehow, I think that Big 3 wouldn't even reach contention.

It would stomp our Big 3

I’ll take an 18 year old Zion, a 19 year old Ayton, and a 22 year old Booker and let that cake bake over any 4 current Blazers at their current age.

Make sure that grass is mowed over there.
