Two drafts ago the two players I wanted - the Knicks landed both.

I spammed S2 about Hernangomez and he's been killing it lately:

Maybe by year SEVEN MyLo will show this kind of feel.

The player you should REALLY be tooting your horn over is Jokic. You were boosting him before anyone else had ever heard of him, and now he's maybe the best young PF in the game.

I was on the Jokic bandwagon since I saw him play in the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland. His footwork and feel for the game even then was like an NBA vet.

I saw the same thing in Hernangomez, but he's not nearly the passer of Jokic.

Jokic is a lot like a young (better scoring) Divac. Hernangomez is Marc Gasol-lite.

Love me some Wessy-Wes, but they chose the wrong Mav. They should send Seth Curry. He's shooting .421 from 3-point range - the exact same 3FG% as his older brother. I'd love to see a Curry brother shootout in the 3-point contest.

Rockets led the Hawks by 19 at home with 9 minutes to play and....lost. Tim Hardaway Jr looked like LeBron.

CP3 really has one of the biggest impacts for his team in the NBA. The clippers look like trash.

They have lost 5 of their last 7 and 9 of their next 10 games are against playoff teams.

This stretch will likely cost them HCA, and they could potentially fall all the way to the 7th seed by March 1.

He's the linchpin to their offense and arguably even their defense. Obviously, DeAndre Jordan is a huge defensive presence, but their defense has fallen off more than their offense since Paul went down. I suspect, on top of being an excellent defensive player himself, he's a big part of their communication on defense.

Most definitely, Paul is very good at funneling his matchup into Jordan too if you watch them closely. He is probably the smartest PG I've ever watched with my own eyes. He's a flopper but man, he is so damn good.

And we could climb to 6 seed?

You'll see. If Clippers lose 7 of their next 10 or worse, all bets are off. Blazers will make up ground quickly.
Personally, I'm more of a one step at a time kind of guy. First goal, make it to .500. Second goal, make it to positive +/-. When they achieve those, I'll be excited to think about playoff seeding and even success.

That's certainly within the realm of the possible given that Paul is out and their schedule is pretty brutal:

Sun, Feb 5 @ Boston
Mon, Feb 6 @ Toronto
Wed, Feb 8 @ NY Knicks
Sat, Feb 11 @ Charlotte
Mon, Feb 13 @ Utah
Wed, Feb 15 vs Atlanta
Thu, Feb 23 @ Golden State
Fri, Feb 24 vs. San Antonio
Sun, Feb 26 vs Charlotte
Wed, Mar 1 vs Houston

But, I agree with Wizard Mentor. The Blazers need to get to .500 and a positive +/- and then we can start to get excited.

Holy crap, in their current form and with CP3 out they will probably lose all those games. Maybe they can beat Charlotte at home.

They will get to .500 and beyond that. We are a couple shots away from being on a 6 game win streak right now.

Warriors just waived Varejao. Guess they didn't need his flopping anymore.

I wonder if he'll head back to Cleveland.
