Phil Jackson is probably going to pry Luke Walton from Golden State given the years he played in the triangle for the Lakers.
Interesting assumption River. I'm still confident Walton is either with the Lakers or Warriors next season, but this wouldn't surprise me.

Too bad McHale got fired. I'd have loved to see a coach-on-coach clothesline.
Haha. I'd love to see Doc Rivers get clotheslined (by anybody) while rushing onto the court to whine about a call.

4:30 EST and ESPN hasn't released their power rankings? Holy shit that website has slipped to the bottom... Power rankings are basically the only public information worth while on ESPN now that they have made everything "insider" only. They are so desperate for page views that they release the power rankings late in the day to get people coming back waiting for them to be posted... Somebody queue the Jaws music or some other ominous shit.

I never go on there anymore. I won't pay for Insider and they are putting more and more of their content on Insider.

It seems like any original content is insider only while everything else is ripped off of local news sources I.E.: OregonLive. Shameless money grubbing really, if they could charge to read somebody else's writing then I'm sure they would do it.

And it takes a few weeks each season before they even link up the Power Rankings on the navigation menu. It's like they want you to click around for more fluff page views to find a link on the home page. After awhile, they place it as a link within the computer generated rankings, then eventually give it its own link. Pretty sad, transparent, desperate attempt to generate traffic.

Nothing is original. As part of my job when I was working for ESPN, I had to comb through 60+ newspapers every morning for original content. There was VERY little. Especially during something like the Super Bowl. It's amazing how there's like 200+ different dudes all writing the exact same thing about the exact same event.

By original I meant their content written by their writers.

Marc Gasol out indefinitely with a broken foot. -- all over bball twitter

Ouch.

Memphis should just blow it up, trade Z-Bo, Allen and Green for all you can get and move forward with committing to Conley/Gasol as the building blocks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I have no idea why Marc Gasol even resigned with that team. I mean you have LMA who left after one healthy playoff run that saw us in the 2nd round pretty much our first time trying (fully healthy) but you have Gasol resigning with an aging team that loses every year in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs. Plus Zbo is old, Tony Allen is old, I have no idea what he was thinking

I went to ESPN to try the trade machine. But when it said that Pat Connaughton for Randolph straight up was a net loss for our team I laughed and closed the web page.

I don't think we have the pieces they want/we're willing to give up. The most I'm willing to give up for Z-Bo would be Meyers+Kaman

Same..... but how much could they possibly get for him? He's 34, he has one year left on his deal. I guess a team like Miami might be willing to pony up something decent. OR maybe they were impressed with Leonard from the playoffs last year

One way I thought of it working would be:

POR: Z-Bo

MEM: David Lee+one of the Boston owned picks

BOS: Cap room for another trade?

I wouldn't want to sacrifice a promising long term player like Meyers for Z-Bo so I think you are right, we don't have the pieces they wan't/we're willing to give up.

I'm not sure Olshey would trade Meyers for ZBO unless there is a strong feeling that they won't be able to sign him to a contract they favor.

I think landing Z-Bo would be a move to help develop Vonleh and make the playoffs. It could work long term too as Z-Bo probably has about 3-4 years left of being a contributor due to his game.

? We wouldn't be getting him... He is a huge expiring which would help Memphis this summer.

Well, why wouldn't Memphis just want Leonard? We can basically eat the entirety of Randolph's contract without needing to send anything at all. He's only making $10 million. Getting Boston to give up a pick would cost a lot, imo.

Leonard and Gasol don't exactly like each other lol also Boston has a shit ton of picks, just give the lowest valued first rounder.
