Terry is one of the worst coaches possible for the Lakers because he will just let them do what they do and try to help them along their journey but what they do is dysfunction.

Im thinking the next coach will tell lebron and AD to “do what they do and do their best” and let their talent take them wherever it takes them. Not sure who could come in at this point and coach that team.

I wouldn't even keep him around if I were ESPN let alone hire him if I were a team, unless he addressed those things the way Chauncey had to address his past even though Chauncey had been found to be wrongfully accused and this shit by Jackson has been swirling around and verifiable for eight years now.

I was thinking of the opposite side of things. Kyrie with Russ and Bron? That's a worse fucking nightmare than the Lakers currently have. With AD it's all about his health but Kyrie has missed his fair share of games too. I would probably pull the trigger on it if I'm the Nets. You would be really big and really athletic if you could get games out of your three all nba guys that are taller than 6'10".

For sure, you're right and it does make more sense on the Brooklyn side but even that one is iffy since it's supposed to be about building around Kyrie and KD even if it hasn't worked yet. Regardless, I would be far far more disturbed right now if the team had announced Perk was going to be our GM today than I am with it being Joe.

KD would say no with haste. A major part of why KD went to Brooklyn was to team up with Kyrie. But more importantly, what the fck would they do with Westbrook?

Watching Westbrook and Irving in the same backcourt would be HILARIOUS…. And bad.

If I’m the nets I’d actually do it though (if you get KD on board AND for some insane reason think AD can stay healthy).

Simmons, KD, AD would be crazy. KD and AD make up for the offensive … prowess … of Simmons. And the defense would be stupid good.

So this is interesting to me. The article states that the Rockets would trade Wall to the Lakers for Russ and a future first. Assuming that the info is real, do you think the Lakers should do it? I mean if I was the Lakers I would definitely do it. I think Wall is a player that wouldn't cause them problems and if they didn't want him to play he's shown that he's willing to sit. The only problem with it is that Pelinka just gave up a first round pick along with Harrell, Kuzma and KCP to get Russ.

If I was the Lakers I'd do it but it's a tough pill to swallow.

I wouldn’t do it. Can’t afford to give up another pick. I would waive Russ and stretch his contract.

And live with the mistake for years? That would be another tough pill to swallow. Either way they messed up going after Westbrook.

On radio (620) this afternoon, this person says that the unnamed "true superstar" is a front-court player (read: NOT Dame) in a not-great situation who would like to join a team that's close to going over the top, and that an Ayton sign-and-trade would be required to make it happen.

There are only a few possibilities that fit all these criteria:
  • Durant
  • Embiid (maybe?)
  • Lebron
  • Davis (although Nick Wright kicked him out of "Club Superstar" last week)

Ayton would be BYC so it would have to be a bigger trade and the only salary that could cover Ayton's BYC differential would be Bridges....except he'll be BYC next season (I believe, but not certain) because that will be the first year of his extension

Crowder and Shamet combine to about the same amount as Bridges.

KAT? It mentions playing with Booker as the draw, and weren't they at Kentucky together?

With an emerging Anthony Edwards, it seems like they don't really fit the "bad situation" criterion, but maybe he's still dissatisfied there. :dunno:

I can't imagine why Minnesota would do that though, unless KAT straight up told them he's gone in 2 years.

Why? KAT is a terrific offensive player. Ayton is already way better defensively. Ayton can get much better and if he's cheaper and you get extras out of it, it maybe worth it.

I'd probably rather have Ayton to KAT because of the defensive side of the floor. KAT had some unusually low IQ plays.
