He had just started playing under Stotts, so Stotts hadn't molded him as a player yet.
I think there's multiple reasons. Some of it is the scheme, not having as many cutters (last season we adjusted for Nurkic, this season Nurkic has adjusted to our scheme), some it is personnel (Nurkic played a lot with Vonleh last season who liked to cut to the rim, this season he's played a lot with Aminu, who camps out on the three point line), and some of it is opposition teams adjusting to him, whereas last season they didn't know what to expect. What happened to 2017 Nurkic? He averaged near 4 assists per game.
34-35 first quarter, 21-41 second quarter. The Warriors lifted both their offence, and their defence. This game was tied at 39, folks.
The first quarter was very interesting.Sooo..this is interesting
Basically where I was getting at.34-35 first quarter, 21-41 second quarter. The Warriors lifted both their offence, and their defence.
No.So let me understand this. Everything good a player does is because of another coach and everything bad is Stotts fault? That's pretty funny.
Yep, you were absolutely right that they just flicked a switch.Basically where I was getting at.
The guy ET called and told him about the offer Neil made...
Oh what the pelicans are actually getting called for fouls this round damn who saw that one coming
I expected a lot of those assists to be to Vonleh, because I remember Nurkic dumping the ball to Vonleh when his man helped on Nurkic. But Nurkic threw assists to Harkless more than any other player. I reckon both Harkless, and Vonleh cut to the rim more than Aminu, and Turner (which makes no sense) who stay on the three point line. Obviously Nurkic's assist line was hurt by Harkless's craptacular first half of the season.Watch this video and pay attention to the off-ball movement on Nurk's assists.
Even then, Harkless has started to sit in the corner more. But more basket cuts is something I've been asking for. We didn't have many last year and now we have none. Aminu should be cutting like Vonleh did if his shots not completely dialed in.I expected a lot of those assists to be to Vonleh, because I remember Nurkic dumping the ball to Vonleh when his man helped on Nurkic. agree.I think we would have played better against the Warriors than the Pelicans are.
I'm kind of thinking the same thing.I think we would have played better against the Warriors than the Pelicans are.
