Biggest fantasy league drop off I can recall. I bet a lot of homers picked up Westbrook on their fantasy team this year and are now crying about it.

I think you are right on that. He is usually in absolutely tremendous shape. He seems to simply out work players through the season. Like him or not everyone has to admit Russel Westbrook comes to play every game.

Just goes to show, you shouldn't let LeBron James pick your players. Reports had the Lakers front office interested in Buddy Hield (who wouldn't have cost them Caldwell-Pope). But James wanted his pal and "Hall of Famer" Russell Westbrook so the Lakers pivoted. Hield would have been a far better fit offensively, they would have kept KCP and Hield makes much less so the Lakers probably could have retained Caruso. That would have been a legitimately strong team.

Instead, they made one of the worst trades in recent NBA history to get Westbrook.

Maybe we're underestimating Westbrook's effect on winning. Check this out:

This isn't quite fair. Westbrook played damn well for each of those teams in the last third of the season, and the Wiz looked better with him (when he finally played well) than they had in YEARS.

Westbrook is 33 and he's always had incredible athleticism be the core of his game. That athletic ability could be dropping rapidly and that's why his numbers are falling so fast

Looks like he pulls a CJ fake there, not a stop collection and re-dribble. I think since it's in slow-motion, it looks weird.

I think Westbrook just chose the wrong sport....he's a football player trying to play basketball..
