I'd guess the only reason they'd want Grant over CJ is that Grants contract ends after next season.

He's a worse shooter, and his defense is marginally better than CJ's (which is bad). Grant is a good player on a bad team, which tends to not translate well to teams that are good. He's just like his father, Harvey. Good player on a shitty team, shitty player on a good team.

Well they still want two other players in the deal, but have come down to 1 draft pick apparently

At this point, i'd be happy to include CJ + 2 picks and the right to swap 1, as long as the 76ers throw in a pick too.

They'd want Roco or Little and a third player probably too or something like that

I don't think that makes us better. I don't understand trading a better offensive player and a better defensive player for him. How does that help either?

Even if that's technically true (and I'm not sure Covington is still superior defensively), the value is in merging good offense and good defense in the same player. Even if CJ were better offensively and Covington were better defensively, having two one-dimensional players is less valuable than a single player who can contribute at a high level on both sides of the court.

Im fine sending RoCo, but I think if they included Thybulle, the Blazer would probably lose any chance at getting a pick back.

Which to be honest, I'm fine with. Gotta fix the starting 5.

Simmons is going nowhere. Does anyone outside of Morey think Harden, Beal, and Lillard type guys are going to be traded to philly for Simmons? Morey is losing his grip on reality. Sure Washington says "we are winning, best start ever, so take our best player and we will love a trainwreck in return!" Morey is a fucking idiot. Embiid is as fragile as a teacup. Joel the Teacup Embiid. When he is down, they are fucked, and Morey is still holding out for Dame. Fucking clueless. It's supply and demand. There is no demand for Simmons. Life in the NBA is fine without him. No one cares except Klutch that he isn't playing. I don't miss him. Curry, Durrant, those I would miss. Not Ben

Given how well Seth Curry and Maxey are playing for them, why would they want another small, defensively-challenged gunner?
Look at how the Sixers WITHOUT EMBIID just wiped out the Nuggets. At the moment I think they're content to wait, but if I was them I'd go for a Sacramento trade that brings back Harrison Barnes plus Mitchell - both stick with their defensive philosophy and Barnes in particular would slide in seamlessly and wouldn't fuck up the amazing chemistry they have right now.

I don't think Morey has ever had any interest in CJ. Apart from anything, he's always been bad at drawing fouls, and that's one of the Morey baselines.

Of course, it didn't help that PJ played him at shooting guard... Come to think of it, maybe that was laying the groundwork for when he did the same thing with Durant

They want Olynyk and Shaddiq Bey included in the deal...

Grant is worse, but at least comparable offensively to CJ, and arguably more complementary with Dame.

Green is equal to if not better than Covington on both ends of the floor, and provides defense at a position of greater need.

Also provides more size/length by allowing Norm to slide to the 2 and bringing Nas into the starting lineup.
This year Grant is shooting 40% from the field and 30%. He put up good stats on a bad team for a single season.

Olshey wouldn’t have drafted any of those guys so it’s all good

I don't know...there are some 6'2 and under guards there which is Olshey's wheelhouse. But they are PG's and Olshey is allergic to them

LeBron and AD quickly realizing that it’s not easy covering for Melo and Westbrook on the defensive end.

They would have been better off keeping KCP, Caruso and Kuzma and resigning Schroeder.

WAY better off. What was Lebron thinking to go after Westbrook?

Westbrook is such a scrub and the Lakers suck. Fun watching them lose.
