I dont have time to listen, what was his advice to Lillard?
It's in the "Lillard to request a trade" thread.
Melo on Dame drama :

The conversation with Dame was never about him leaving. Dame is Portland. That's his town, city, and organization. He's never talked about leaving. He wants to win and do it here in Portland, but if it's not gonna work-- it won't work. That's the battle he deals with. He wants to win and be in Portland -- Portland is his, so it's more so the outside noise than anything else. Everyone from outside is putting things in his head about where he should go and they're putting him in different uniforms. The guy is still under contract and never asked for a trade. I spoke to him and I wanted him to look at my situation when I was in Denver, where there were some similarities in the market size, but the organization was going in a different situation and I had to ask out. I'm not saying Portland is doing the same thing Denver was. But a lot of things have to happen to get Dame out-- it's not that easy. Fans from outside want to see him somewhere else, but then they would then ridicule him for getting out. Dame is good, man. I know he came out and said Portland is his, and Dame won't feed into the noise.

So if rumors are true, LeBron James isn’t vaccinated will he still be able to play without testing given his super powers?

Okay. We'll see. Maybe he'll get traded for Kevin Love.

Yeah something like that could make sense.

Or if Westbrook is terrible on the Lakers they get flipped for each other again. Or Horford contract. Or even goes back to Washington for the dumb Bertans contact.

There are always plenty of shitty contracts in the NBA. When one is clearly the shittiest, just wait a few months and another joins that club.

Sounds like the Rockets have no rush to trade him as he is reporting to camp and working with young players. It might be a way of giving him DNP but with a narrative that Wall prefers.

He told Ed to take that deal, it was an over pay and congratulations. I think it was polite.

OVERpay? His pay was cut to nothing, not raised. All season he'd been one of our top players (look at the advanced numbers per minute), and people here had posted, "He's going to get PAID."

We've been hurting up front ever since Olshey dumped him to give time to the awful stick figure bad shooter Zach Collins, who was 4 years from Davis-quality even when uninjured.

Among Olshey's many vanity decisions to preserve his draftees, this was even worse than most.

Dude was solid. On and off the court. Never had to run a play for him. Hustled his ass off on both ends. Favorite player Dams has ever played with for a reason son.
I mean that’s fine and great for Damian. Frankly I’m over damians favorite teammates. Ed was solid. Lots of solid players. I don’t even have a problem with people liking him a lot or being upset when he left but I can guaranteeeeeee you no other fan base gets so attached to role players like Portland. Davis has played for several teams and no chance any of them are still talking about him three seasons after he left lol

I remember a quote from an assistant coach of Davis' Laker team before us, saying that their defense still missed him.

Why don't you simply decide that Lillard knows more than you about which stupid Olshey decisions decreased our wins.

I think with a player like Ed, he has to be in the right situation. I'd take him over Zeller yesterday.

I don’t know what you’re talking about but if Ed Davis was the make or break guy for this team it has much bigger issues.

Ok. I just think it’s very Portland that a guy who has played for 7 teams - an 8th likely in 2021/2022, in 11 years (!), is this blazer legend and still has people up in arms about his departure for the Nets. I mean it’s insane. Ok - he’s a great guy, a solid player, all agree to this. But it’s just so Portland.

27 year old healthy Ed Davis that was playing for us yes I would take over Zeller. He was a great backup center, and a competent starter if needed. The problem is Davis has been injured and is now 32, and was more of a hustle athleticism player than a skill guy.

I think DeMarcus Cousins is also still available for the minimum. Center is the easiest position to fill.

Nance can play a few games of backup center fine if we have an injury to Nurk or Zeller. If we need a longer solution, it will be easy to bring someone in.

We should target a wing if we add anyone else to the roster now. If Roco and or Nance miss games we will be in trouble, and theres never anyone available to sign at those positions.

It did have issues. Olshey had us so weak up front that Ed Davis was The Man. Olshey thought Zach was an able replacement after a bad rookie year. Just one dumb decision after another, for a decade now.

Bringing Ed Davis in in the first place surely broke that string?

I know most don't have ESPNInsider, but they had some poll questions with us in the results......

Kawhi is a tool. No personality. This is a monster day for the Clippers franchise. But this is the kind of stuff you get with mercenaries. PG is only excited when he's sending pics of his junk to teammates significant other. Looks like the other power shakers were the same. Bunch of stiffs. I'm a hard rocker to the core, but even i like "The Walker" by Fitz and the Tantrums.
