Good articles with some interesting quotes:

“The thing I’m most excited about is how easily the game comes to him,” Blazers general manager Neil Olshey says. “It’s very hard to put guys on the court that can’t score, and it’s something that comes very natural for him. It’s easy for him.”

"When I was young I’d just push the ball up. It was one motion,” Simons says, describing his unique jumper. “Usually when guys get older they make it two motions, so I kind of kept it as one motion and it’s still working out.”

"One of the things Dame and I talk to him about is his pace. I always tell him ‘You don’t have to go 100. Find your 80, find your 75 at first, and then progressively speed it up’,” McCollum says. “He’s got the total package, man. He’s 20 years old, not even old enough to drink.”

"Riding the bench wasn’t easy, but Olshey constantly reminded Simons he was a lottery talent who didn’t play for a lottery team."

“He is not currently the best basketball player I drafted. He’s not the most functional player that I drafted at the time of the draft,” Olshey says. “But just in terms of his natural gifts at his age, and his God-given talent, it rivals anybody else that I’ve drafted in my career"

I can't stand it anymore! Just start the season already. It's ridiculous that Kawhi Leonard is planning to take off 22 games. People pay a shitload to attend these events it's such crap. I remember a guy driving all the way from Vancouver BC to watch Lebron play at the Moda center and Lebron took the night off. Just spread the season out.

Will it be replaced with another blazer content show?
No clue my man. I just thought I heard back towards the end of the season they were going away. Maybe I was wrong. You tend to hear a lot of gossip in the Media Room during lunch.

The hype has gotten out of hand. Lets hope it doesn't affect him.

Olshey's comments remind me of the difference between talent and skill. Skills are learned and need long practice, talent a person is born with or not. Simons needs to work on skills but talent is there.

this time management stuff is for wimps, fuck em all, Kawhi, bron bron, all of em

Why is there a need by some around here when they see something nice written about Ant to be like:

c'mon man....there has been a tsunami of "nice" written about Ant this off-season jabbering about "how-great-he's-going-to-be". That 'article' you're defending is one of dozens. It's over-the-top and typical of off-season-we're all-bored hype and pointing that out isn't nearly as 'bad' as the over-sensitive and defensive responses like yours right there. Oh, and by the way...it was just a joke for chrissakes; lighten up francis

for the 'record': I think Simons is going to be a pretty good player. I have no clue what his ceiling is. But while I think he's going to end up a good player, I think the odds are high he will struggle at times next season, perhaps a lot. I wouldn't be surprised with a Layman type of season where he looks great part of the time and looks like a scrub part of the time. The NBA scouts players that have an impact and teams come up with adjustments, often very effective ones. Simons doesn't even have a year of NCAA play as a foundation, and so far the roster construction makes it look like he's going to be tossed into the deep end of the pool

another thing: I believe a whole bunch of this hype deluge is from Olshey, both on the record and off the record. Maybe he's going to be proven right about Simons. But I hope if Simons does struggle this season to live up to the hype, it doesn't affect him in a negative way

I challenge you to go one day without mentioning Olshey.

Holy hell, some of the superlatives in that article are too much, even for me. This reads like an SI article about Sebastian Telfair from 2003. (Rick Pitino cameo included, for those of you that remember the connections there)
