John Amaechi, who came out of the closet, was talking about playing in Utah and said "You can't throw a ball into the crowd without hitting a gay person."

As a fan of the Blazers I'm not only un-offended, I applaud the courage of this Brave American

I don't think outing gays by throwing a ball at them is appropriate at all.

Oh, I see. You got hit by the ball, didn't you?

So assume the ball hits one person and then bounces off and touches another...50% are gay? The only thing I'd be offended by is Amechi's horrible ability to use phrasing.

What's offensive about it? He's not insulting anyone, he's saying that there are a lot more gay members of the Utah community than are visible.

Which is probably true.

I have no problem with what he said. If they find it offensive then they must be hiding someting.

What if the crowd in question is in Golden State?

The only thing I would find offensive to our fanbase is if our announcer said at the beginning of the game, "Starting for the Blazers at small forward, 6'7" from Lower Merion HS, number 24...KOBE BRYANT!!!!"

I think it's because a straight person would put their hand up to block the ball from hitting them.
