In the Eastern Conference:
Boston 67, Florida 65, Philadelphia 63, & Ottawa 62

Rangers play Boston 1x, Florida 1x, Philadelphia 1x, Ottawa 2x

Even NJ isn't completely out of it, and they play Boston today.

NJ needs to win tonight. Backup goalie stymies Devils 1-0 into
the 3rd. Devils lose, they're done.

Two weeks later.....March 13th.
What does wild card look like in the East Conference?

Washington 82
Boston 80
Florida 74
Ottawa* 73

Unless the following teams make miracle
turn arounds, they are out of the running:

Philadelphia 70, NJ Devils 67

*Ottawa looks to be the dark horse and really coming
on strong with Andrew Hammond in goal. He caught
my eye with back to back shut outs against the Ducks
and the Kings on the west coast. They had a letdown
at home this past week vs Boston, the team they are
presently chasing.

The Bruins are actually ahead of the Caps now. They both have 82 points and 33 ROW's, but Boston has a game in hand. They play in DC tomorrow night. Huge game really.

The Sens have been red hot, but they are still 7 back (2 games in hand on the Caps). So you still have to favor the Bruins and Caps to be the WC's, but if the Bruins win tomorrow night it isn't impossible to see the Sens catching the Caps (assuming they beat the Flyers tomorrow night).

The seeding in the East will be interesting. The Rangers look like a pretty decent bet to finish 1st in the Met, 7 up on the Pens if you factor in games in hand and we have the ROW TB as well, but which WC will we play if we win the Met? Which team will be the top WC and which team will be the lower WC between the Bruins and Caps.

Regular season ends 4 weeks from today. Going to be a fun time.
