What do you guys think about the Ashley Madison website? I have mixed feelings on it. I know there are people, men and women in "loveless" marriages, but they don't want to split up the home, and many people go nuts if they don't get romance/sex. Then you have sex addicts that are just into sexual conquest.

And honestly, most men, to some degree, have that drive to fuck multiple women.
This website probably encourages them to act out fantasies they maybe otherwise not have.

I'm not religious, so I may not have the same judgments against adultry as some here. I know it's very hurtful to the person who gets cheated on. But it's almost like we humans live socially one way, but are biologially wired to want to live another way.

I won't even get into the religous part of this, but religious or not, cheating is wrong. It's hurts the person you are supposedly committed to. If you want to have sex with different people, let your partner know so they can make the choice whether to stay with you or not. I think if you have sex with others than the person you are in a relationship with would mean you really don't like or respect them. Move on and let them do the same

totally agree.

Another option. Don't get married, don't have relationships and just screw around.

Cheaters are practically sub-human. Despicable!

have any of you seen the commercial for the website that allows you to "bid" on dates?

So I don't like bumping threads, but am using this one.

I was shocked to see only 3 zip codes in the entire US weren't on Ashley Madison. 2 in Alaska and 1 in New Mexico. Total population about 300 total people between the 3 zip codes

That shocked me more than anything.

Im shocked that this was such a big thing and I have never heard about it before the scandal.

In other news, I recently realized that because of the internet I have probably seen more naked women than all of my ancestors combined.

I've never been married, and I know some people want open marriages, but this web site appears to be a total scam.

To me, it's the cheapest kind of "cheating".

I mean - like I said, never been married, maybe would feel different if I had - I can understand a person away from his/her spouse, feeling lonely, has a couple of drinks and lands in the sack with someone. I can understand running into an old flame and discovering the embers can still burn bright. I can understand falling in love. While Mark Sanford made a fool of himself with his "hiking the Appalachian trail" and pillow talk (other people's pillow talk is always hilarious, remember Prince Charles wanting to be Camilla's tampon?), he apparently genuinely fell in love with this Argentine woman, to whom he is now married. And as I said some folks do have open marriages.

But to go to a web site and pay to be set up with some stranger with whom to cheat on one's spouse? Ugh! It's not my morals that are offended, it's my personal hygiene.

I am totally against it. I do not condone cheating at all. It's not because I am Christian either, because I was seriously against it when I wasn't one. If you are unsatisfied with who you are currently with then leave and break off the relationship. I've been cheated on 3 times and all felt like a deep knife was stabbed in my stomach.

I'm completely against cheating as well, but I have been disgusted by the response by some people to the suicides and fallout from this leak. People have killed themselves because their spouse found out, and some people are actually saying they got what they deserve. I really hate society sometimes. I always regret reading the comments on Oregonlive. That place is full of middle-aged scumballs who make the most asinine comments on articles.

More fallout is that there are reports that Saudi Arabia and some other very repressive government is searching for names of their citizens seeking same sex affairs. Most of AM was hetero but reportedly about 5% were men seeking men (no reports on women seeking women). If this is true those men are in deep peril and could even face death penalty.

In related news Mommy and Daddy released a statement that Josh Duggar has entered long term rehab. Rehab for being "a Sexist, Egotistical, Lying, Hypocritical Bigot", as they so well put it in 9 to 5. Didn't know there was such a thing.

I hear ya buddy

Damn, people need to stop caring what others do behind closed doors. I care about my relationships. But we need to let people decide for themselves what's important and what type of partner they want to be. The existence of AM isn't going to make someone cheat.

yeah you fucking prudes, let people fuck who they want married or not. its their choice to do so, let them live bro

The question was "do I support it?" I do not, but I'm not demanding it to be shut down. They can live their life the way I want.

Everyone deserves a second chance except Christians.

Sounds like a description for Narcissistic personality disorder.

Why would you say Christians don't deserve a second chance, mediocre man? Or are you pretending that is my position?

Molesting little girls, going to an adultery web site, cheating on his pregnant wife with a sex worker, all while posing as a model of morality and crusading against rights for others deemed lesser human beings sounds like a lot more than 2 chances. What 6th chance do I give Josh Duggar? I'm not his wife, thank goodness.

I pretend its your position like you pretend its others position that posting on a message board is like killing two people. It goes both ways.

He has made a lot of mistakes. Some may call what he has an illness or addiction. Just because you dont like him doesnt mean he shouldnt get more chances.

What do you mean by more chances? Chances for what? To be on TV again? That's the only thing he's lost.

He is an activist as well as a salesman. Should he not be able to continue those if he is truly sorry?

I just find it sad that so many liberals are so quick to forgive people for crimes, and want nothing to do with the death penalty, but not so quick if said person is a conservative Christian. Then it seems they want them burned at the stake for all to see.

Who is saying that he can't be an activist or a salesman? That's up to the people who might hire him.

Knowing what you know now about the guy would you hire him to represent a Christian family values lobby? Would you hire him to be on a TV show about Christian family values?

Not until I felt he had repented. Then why not?

I thought Ashley Madison was a company that made baked goods...or Adam Sandlers next movie
