That is the best news I’ve heard from NYR in 4 years. Gorton did a crumby job assembling this team and JD is a dope. Next get rid of that college hockey coach. Dolan, like the rest of the NYR fan base, is probably pissed because the team is so soft despite being able to put up offense and have a great goal differential. The rosters have been way too soft and there is no reason to be playing scrubs like PDG, Bitetto, Johnson, etc when they could have other guys fills those roles. What happened Monday was an embarrassment and JD , DQ and JG were responsible for it
piece of shit soft teams. I told you guys I’ve watch maybe 25 games in the last 3 years because the teams sucked and were boring. Dickhead Quinn not playing our #1 and #2 picks late in games.
This is SPOT ON. Absolutely a year too early. If the Rangers struggled next year all 3 of them (I include Quinn) could have been gone, but to do it now right on the edge of big things is ridiculous. We are a total laughing stock of an organization...period.Disagree with you there. This team is stacked with young talent, so much so it needs to consolidate via trade because there aren't enough spots for everyone. In my opinion these firings are a year too early as i think this summer is when they would have had to make that big move for a top center and see if this team can contend.
The unfortunate thing is a new guy will come in and shake the tree for the sake of shaking it and putting his stamp and it may not be the best thing.
Also, how do you fire them but not the coach?
You have got to be kidding me with this. Forget your Quinn nonsense, but you think Dolan goes rogue and is a joke, as he always has been owning the Knicks, and fires JD and Gorton because they don't want to fire Quinn, and then he keeps Quinn.Hey NYR Fan,
Yes, if we develop according to plan, but we are not. Stupid Quinn is not developing this Quinn correctly, which is what we have been complaining about all season. If JD/Gorton would not part with Quinn, then Dolan had no choice.
Quinn is a bad coach. He did not develop this team and pieces the right way. LFA should not have been playing on the 3rd line. LFA 1st line, Kakko 2nd, Gauthier 3rd, and when Kravtsov came back, he should not have been on the 4th line at all this year. So I am not sure what you are talking about.
I don't disagree, but I wonder what that means. Dolan went rogue and wrote the letter and JD/Gorton opposed and got fired for it? The other way around? Dolan was angry because we didn't have a goon? I don't know the connection, but it seems to be a big coincidence if no connection.I have a hard time believing this isn't mostly related to the Wilson incident.
Ok, well that at least explains it, even though it doesn't make it any less moronic on Dolans part.Like I wrote - Dolan is an unprofessional disgrace, and JD/Gorton ran away from his nonsense, and he fired them. That is a good look for future top people wanting to work for him, sure he'll get the best of the best - joke. It's the same nonsense he pulls with the Knicks. He is a disgrace, and 10000000000% the issue.
According to Frank Seravalli, “Sources say that #NYR president John Davidson and GM Jeff Gorton scurried to distance themselves from the team statement that was issued on Tuesday night, telling other executives that they did not know it was in the works until after it was released.”

Agreed. Maybe also because they were eliminated from playoff contention at the same time but I think that is just coincidence.I have a hard time believing this isn't mostly related to the Wilson incident.
