For me, no doubt, was the 1977 WCF.

4 - oh, baby!!! Walton, for the most part, snuffing Jabbar was a thing of beauty.

You?

I was kind of indifferent to the Lakers until Shaq joined the team, after that I hated them.

I don't remember ever not hating the Lakers.

1991 Western Conference Finals...

game 6 WCF 2002. I found out that the whole Lakers franchise was fake and rigged because Stern like L.A

Same, it was second nature. Like taking your hand off of a hot stove when your little. Just instinct. Evolution is a beautiful thing.

I've found myself rooting for them to lose lately and I have no idea why since I don't hate any of their players, I like the franchise and I have no problem with their fans. Maybe it's because I'm a Nets fan surrounded by Lakers fans and my brother has joined their bandwagon and pretty much abandoned the Nets as a result, causing an anti-Lakers feeling for me.

What are you guys talking about?!? The Lakers are awesome! You mean to tell me you guys dont like the Lakers?!? :dunno:

I hated the Lakers until Kobe and Shaq split up. Since then I've been indifferent to them, but I'm guessing when Bynum gets completely healthy again and Portland begins making the playoffs consistently, that will likely change.

magic throwing the ball over his head in the 91 WCF's. i was only 10 and didn't know much about them before that. since then, nothing but hatred and i can't even root for them if it helps the blazers. and anyone who does root for them doesn't belong on our bandwagon.

Since 2000. I liked the Showtime-era Lakers.

check out this dude. I love the part at the 30 second mark

I was too young to remember '77.

I can't really pin point a date, but it was in the early/mid 80's for me. The Blazers had some really good teams back then. Pax, Calvin Natt, Clyde, Mychal Thompson and later Vandeweghe, then later Kersey, Porter . . . every year a (select) FEW of the Media would pick the Blazers "to finally overtake" the Lakers. I would buy into it . . . and every year the Lakers won the Western Conference (I think the Rockets went a couple of times, but almost always it was the Lakers)

The "Showtime Lakers" . . . ugghh. They never die either. Oh, they might go away for a year or two - like 1990,only to knock us out again in '91. Then after Majic retires a little swoon that almost made you forget about them until Shaq and Kobe and Two Freeking Thousand (2000 WCF) Then Shaq and Kobe break up and you start to think they are toast again, when they come back last year/this year looking like another 4-5 year WC Dynasty. All Time playoff series record is:

Lakers 9
Blazers 2

Yeah, I hate them.

We have 1977 and 1992. They have 1983, 1985, 1989, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002.

I was born May 5th, 1987. Assuming conception occurred exactly nine months prior, the hate began August 5th, 1986.

And I love you DaRizzle and all, but the build up to Laker games is far more important than the respect for ones fellow humans/forumers. So in all cordiality...

go fuck yourself!

;)

That's not all the "Showtime" Lakers, though. The Showtime era ended with Magic. Shaq and Kobe are definitely not a part of it.

I can't remember that far back... Let's see, I've been a Blazer fan since '74 or '75, so at least since then... My revulsion for the purple 'n piss took a severe turn for the worse during the WCF of '91... And I gotta admit, Magic always made me ill, however great he was...

Specifically when Magic Johnson threw the ball to eliminate the blazers in the 91 WCFs. Went out and dunked on my minihoop in the front yard for about 2 hours cursing the Lakers franchise forever.
