I have been trying to come up with some centers we can go after for depth. Of course there is Leon Powe, but he has been dealing with knee injuries. There is Troy Murphy, but it is looking like he is going to Miami/Boston. Any other ideas?

I came across an article that was written in December talking about available centers. He lists a few guys that have been overlooked. Maybe we should take a look at some of these guys?

"Josh Boone - He's only 6-foot-10, but surely meets the standards of being a backup center in the league.

Chris Hunter - He didn't make the NBA 'til he was 25 last season with Golden State, but played 60 games, starting nine. Over 13.1 MPG, he scored 4.5 PPG, shooting 50.2% from the field and 75.4% at the FT line.

Randolph Morris -24-year old, 6-foot-10 guy who played four seasons -- two with the Knicks and two with the Hawks."

None of these guys sound great, but maybe there is a different gem in the D-league. Is there any guys out there you think we should go after? We clearly need some depth at Center. I am thinking we go after Powe or someone from the D-league.

I was going to throw out the name Chris Johnson, who we signed to a 10-day contract earlier in the season, but he just got a call up by Celtics.

If the Bobcats waive Marks instead of Joel, will you take SM back?

Maybe there's some D-league call-up worth pursuing? But honestly, whomever we get would be a 5-10 minutes per night guy.

Sean Marks is available. Bobcats waived him today.

He's an ambitious bastard, I'll give him that.

barfo

Whats him being able to shoot with both hands have to do with anything?

Anyone know what Joel Freeland's buyout status is? He would seem like a logical choice and, by all accounts, appears to be developing well overseas.

A name just recently waived that isn't a center, but a big is Leon Powe. I think he could give us some decent minutes

I think it would be cruel to introduce Leon Powe's limbs to the Blazers training staff.

Sign Marcus Cousin and tell Nate we signed Demarcus Cousins... see if he notices the difference. :D

So ... is McNichilocious Nik's non-mod alter ego?

27 posts in one day is a hell of an introduction to the board. Plus, if he isn't Nik, they should hang out, because their posts are similar in content.

Hmm. I'd be fine with Pendy. Wonder where he's at with his rehab.

Courtney Sims' numbers look decent enough to get him a shot... we already know marks isnt worth 8 mins a game

Yeah, he was mentioned on the Denver/Boston game tonight. He could work.
However, I am glad that Pendy has been staying in the PDX area for rehab and he still shows up on "Talkin Ball" and shows up to Blazer games still.

Chris Hunter blew his ACL or MCL or something and hes done for a while. Hes not bad though.

Troy Murphy and Darius Songaila could be available via buyout soon. Przybilla too.
