This guy is a really solid wing. 60% TS%.

18/9/5 per 36 minutes.

Major upgrade over Camara.

Feels like a steep price to pay for a guy still figuring it out. Maybe I just still have an exposed nerve from all those Olshey overpays for good but not good enough trade targets.

I'm sure the bigger part of giving up so much is the contract and getting out from under the cap.

I'm not so sure he's a good shooter... at least from beyond the arc.

If there's an upward trend, then that's good. He's a below-average free throw shooter (average last year was 78.9%) so last year might have been a bit of an aberration beyond the arc (like we saw with Thybulle, who (at 33.8%) is actually better at 3s in his career than Deni.

Yes, he is a young guy who had a breakout season where he showed what he's capable of. Welcome to the NBA.

I'd put more stock in his last season that his first 3. That's a full season of starting at almost 4 per game. His TS% is 60, which is above the league average, and something the Blazers desparately need to improve in.

Slightly above average three point shooting, below-average free throw shooting, and 14.7 ppg on a terrible team is a "breakout"?

Ouch.

Absolutely, with young players....total stats mean nothing. The last year does

I don’t hate the trade, I think we gave up a little too much but on the other hand this draft is very weak and getting under the tax was part of the deal. This keeps the team flexible. Also getting a wing will help balance the roster out.

Look at the True Shooting %. That's really the key to offensive efficiency. 60%, that's 2% better than the league average, and like 6% better than the Blazers pathetic team average.

He's also a good defender, rebounder, passer....

Young, good contract. This is a good deal.

Wiz forums not that happy. Comments like “ gave up our best player”
