Lillard, McCollum form bond, foundation for Blazers' future

Shaun Powell said:
The teammates that play together, hang out together and carry the Blazers together also managed to get injured together in the same game. And so, we've learned something else about the quickly formed bond between guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum: They even limp alike.
Shaun Powell said:
At the moment, they're dangerous together, two smallish guards with the right amount of quickness and shooting to cause headaches and matchup issues for teams. Their development has been both effortless and rapid. They are more peanut butter and jelly than oil and water, showing no signs of conflict or inability to share the wealth and load.

We understand each other's game. I know what he likes to do, what types of passes I can throw to him, and in transition where he wants to go. And he gets what I'm trying to do. It works. I'm not sure there are too many teammates in basketball who are made for each other like we are.

Best thing I've learned from him is patience. Also, how to control what you can control, your preparation, work ethic, confidence level and just continue to study. There's a reason he's an All-Star and a reason why he has his own shoe. With him, it's not what you see, it's what goes on behind closed doors.
Good to see Dame and CJ getting some national attention.

Mods, I want him banned for posting such a sexual, perverted thread title

Same fanboy writing style as the Oregonian...except that Shaun Powell doesn't belabor us with schoolboy mythic themes praising leadership and confidence. He's a little better, but not much.

 That's just what NBA.com had as their title.

Pitty neither of them is nowhere near as good a defender as Dumars.

Hard to compare the "Bad Boys" to today's players. If they played D the same way today as they did then, they would foul out in the first half.

On the other hand Isaiah would be unstoppable on offense.

Some of you are ancient enough to remember that creepy little trick Isiah would pull on D; while running down the court alongside his man he would step on the guy's foot, sometimes more than once. That was almost as bad as Rodman pinching guys during post play . . .

Isiah would stand on a guys toe when he guarded him one on one often...it was a trick he used throughout his career but specifically to keep them from getting by him..he'd also use that to flop when he could. I heard Gary Payton talk about this once
