...I always thought he was a great player, the Suns did him dirty :tsktsk:

Both are image conscious, eschewing tattoos. Both believe that money should be saved rather than wasted on entourages and ostentatious amenities. And both would rather hang in the background than be in the spotlight.

I really like that about Roy. He's not about the glamour, but the family thing. A very good role model for kids these days. And when his career is over, their families will be very well protected instead of "kemp-like players" that are hurting for dough.

Reminds me of a story I remember watching about an NFL stand out that got a nice sized contract. The story was he got a multi-million dollar deal as a rookie and he made a promise to his mother that she gets to manage half his money. He was blowing his half on his entourage and fancy cars and house, while his mom was investing his money and saving it.

a year after his contract, he had a career ending injury. Obviously the team didn't resign him and he had no income. Fortunately for his mother, she had tripled the money she invested and he wasn't broke like many young athletes.

How did the Suns "do him dirty?" I live down here in Phoenix and love JJ's game. He did the Suns dirty. He begged the owner not to match ATL's offer sheet. It was a stupid move by the owner here.

...what happened before he "begged" them not to match :dunno:
