Didn't I read something about the team and Brandon holding a press conference today to formally announce the contract extension?

Anyone?

I've heard that Roy is so angry at the Blazers for actually trying to negotiate with him that the press conference is to voice his trade demand.

Sign and trade. Or extend and trade. But he's a PPP player now, isn't he? So it would have to be a team with cap room. OKC?

Greece.

He's going to whine about not having any leverage, and how his only leverage is to whine in the media.

He's going to announce that after we finish paying him he's going to use the money to buy the team and move it to his home in Seattle :devilwink:

Gotta love hearing B-Roy talk about his drive and motivation to bring the 'ship back to the Rose City where it belongs.

Kudos to the organization for getting this done.

And not so much kudos to the staff at blazers.com who couldn't figure out how to get the live video to work, forcing me to listen to it on radio.

B-Roy said all the right things. He sounds ready to get back on the court.

It was real interesting hearing him talk about how he let his pride get in the way off the negotiating process taking its course. I know I forget that Roy isn't an all-star at everything, and since he has never been through this before, it's understandable that he wasn't aware of the best way to handle this.

Most importantly, we got our guy locked up for years. How freaking exciting is that!

Yeah. NBA players have egos. Part of the leverage process.

I put up the video of his press conference on youtube righ now if anyone wants to watch it there

(might need to wait a couple minutes for it to process)

his kid makes me laugh... kind of annoying but still no clue how big of a deal his dad is here.

Roy's Michael Jackson Moment

Easy, now, with the little one, Brandon!

Roy will end up in an executive/VP role with the Blazers some day.
