Lewis and clark college? There isnt a highschool, right?

If so, one of my neices in Seattle just got accepted there starting next year. She is a softball and soccer player though. NOt bball.

Edit: says college in the bottom. I hist don't read we in the mornings anymore. :)
Yep, college. My daughter loves it there

Cool that she stayed in town and her old teammates are so close.
Those are actually her college teammates at Lewis & Clark. They come and watch our younger daughters play when they don't have practice or a game.

We are super grateful that she is going to school close to home. We get to attend so many more of her games that way, Even if we don't get to see her a whole lot more outside of games than we would if she was across the country.

My old college roommate and teammates daughters play for West Linn. Sounds like that will be a good challenge. Always fun to see the local teams play some competitive ball.

West Linn is loaded. They had a bunch of club players transfer in the last couple years. They'll probably kill us unless our coach can come up with some kind of wonder strategy. They probably have 3 or 4 times as many talented players as we do.

I'm assuming your college roommate is Kevin Buse. Great guy. His daughters are very good, and awesome kids.

My youngest daughter played for him and with his daughters during COVID. Took several trips to Idaho, etc.

Some of our best basketball memories are with that Oregon City/West Linn mashup team. Good times.

I expect West Linn to play Tualatin for the state championship. And West Linn may well win it all.

Yeah the club players transferring is not good for high school ball as far as I am concerned, but it has happened for years. I remember when I was in High School, during the time OC was one of the top girls basketball schools in the nation. They approached a gal from my school and tried to talk her into transferring. Take the fun out of it for so many when the teams recruit the best players.

Yeah he is a good guy and always has been a basketball junkie. Spent a lot of time running and fishing with him.

Wound up losing by 3. Not bad, considering South Salem is now ranked #4 in the State and we were missing 3 of our top 6 players. Al and Liv played the whole game without a sub. We were up 1 with 2 minutes to go.

It was a great game, though. Somebody had to lose.

Super proud of them.
Go Saxons! Sorry, it's my wife's alma mater. Sounds like it was a great game.

Am I reading this right? Your daughter scored 27 of the team’s 30 points total?
That's correct. Tualatin have a stifling zone defense with several 6fters and several D1 players.

Most of the girls on the OC team aren't very experienced. We're also missing 2 starters, and Al (my middle daughter who is 5ft 8in) had to play middle against those super tall players. She played the whole game with no breaks (as did Liv) and was critical for sucking the defense in so Liv could get open lanes and 3s with space. They both played a hell of a game and I'm super proud of them both.

*Edit* I do want to say that while the OC players aren't very experienced they are awesome young ladies who have a ton of heart and outwork most teams. My daughters absolutely love playing here now. And that hasn't been the case in the past. Coach Kevin has allowed the positive attitudes of the leaders on this team to help improve the experience and it has allowed this very young team to be much better than last year. And I have hopes that they may be able to surprise some teams come playoff time.

Super happy my daughters decided to stick it out here rather than transferring to another team chasing wins.
