Lakers center Deandre Ayton was briefly detained Tuesday while at an airport in the Bahamas on suspicion of being in possession of a "very small amount of marijuana," according to his lawyer.

Half the league is reasonably intelligent enough not to get detained in other countries with it.

It's not illegal to sleep on an air mattress for months while earning $100 million either.

Both behaviors show an individual that completely lacks the most basic common sense to commit minimal effort in their profession. But just watching Ayton on a basketball court shows that as well.

I don't smoke weed myself sir. I also don't like throwing shit out about people being lazy and lethargic that do.

Its just an incredibly stupid take to apply blanketly. People often are lazy and lethargic without weed.

I take a gummy every night to sleep. I would imagine many of them do as well. Especially when they need to wind down after a game.
Much rather have them do that than go out drinking to wind down.

Of course, to be safe, I never board a plane with them, which sucks because I need it more than ever when I travel to a different time zone. But at home, I wake up refreshed with a solid 8 hours of sleep. Makes for a productive day.

I guess he could be taking a hit before games, but I doubt it. Too easy for the staff to smell it.

The effects of cannabis depend on the strain, and whether it is a sativa or an indica. Not to mention the individual. I am almost 72 years old and have been smoking weed since I was 16. Despite that, i've done okay in my life, with few complaints Would I have done better if I had not taken it up? Hard to say. I recognized at a very young age that I was what they now call ADD (not sure it was even a "thing" in the 50's and 60's). Unless it was a book, nothing could hold my interest for more than a few minutes. My mind was always going in several different directions at once. Once I discovered weed, my mind slowed that all down and (counterintuitively) helped me focus. Yes, it had it downsides, and yes, I had to often shake off the couch lock and force myself to get moving. But I got much better about finishing what I started and was more focused while doing it. Everyone responds differently to it, and blanket (and ignorant) statements that demonize those who do use it are irresponsible and lazy. There is a reason that medical marijuana exists......
