What they do in practice isn’t really relevant to anything being talked about. As a fan, I don’t see it, so how am I supposed to know what Baldwin is or isn’t?

For several years now, putting a Blazer into D-League has meant that when he returns, he plays a lot for a few games before they get tired of him.

They're waking up Baldwin IV and Swanigan for temporary increased minutes. Why? To see whether all the coaching they've put into them has had any effect. Why not the rookies? Because they haven't learned enough to test whether they've learned anything.

When they come back they will be right where they left at the end of the bench. To me it more they really want to put any more investment in them.

My guess is Baldwin's agent or even Baldwin himself asked to be sent down to get some playing time.
