He had problems with anybody who disagreed with him. Especially if they had evidence his stance was harmful.

He took it as a personal attack.

I don't condone anyone going after anyone's livelihood. That's never ok.

Here is what is known. For those who you who don't know the beef, The HCP used to have a shtick. He would "haze" newcomers pretending to bully them, calling them rooks, and messing with them. Several posters took this personal. A few may have even left because of it.

OB and Bodyman both now banned, were two who took it personal. They felt they were being bullied, they saw others they felt were being bullied.

Bodyman came up with a very ill gotten joke to get HCP back. OB said he would think about going along with it. They would tell him in the forum and/or send him a PM telling him that they sent an email to his bosses at the Blazers about it. In the end IB decided not to go along with it in case what actually happened, happened.

Someone actually did it though. OB has denied he actually did it. He has sworn up and down it was not him who actually wrote an email and sent it.

I have reason to believe it was someone else who is no longer here.

Anyway that is the origin of the beef between OB and HCP and OB and the Mods. That HCP was "hazing" newcomers and the mods were supposedly allowing it.

I have spent a lot of time hanging out with OB. I have helped him move, went to S2 get togethers at his house, saw his band play at several bars, went to Blazers games with him. I have seen in him nothing but a kind friendly dude outside of this forum.

I don't agree with his joke. It's terrible it became reality and threatened HCPs livelihood. Again, I don't condone that. Even if he didn't actually do it, he does bare responsibility for it because he considered going along with Body's joke.

Seems like you are whitewashing HCP's role and the Mods roles quite a bit, as he has called several posters here RACISTS, myself included, and never been held accountable.

Nothing I have seen from OB approaches anything that vile.

I am only offering an objective, neutral take on the matter to get the whole story across. I was not yet a mod when this occured. I cannot speak on what their thoughts were behind all of it. My post is not meant to attack any of the parties mentioned but to express a clear unbiased set of events as to what occured for those who don't know what happened.

Frankly I am tired of this being brought up. I don't think it's condusive to HCP to keep bringing it up. I get his anger over it. I would be pissed too if it happened to me. Many on here are afraid of similar reprisals. I didn't want to comment. But, I thought it necessary.

I 2nd that motion.

When I recently went at it with a few people in here claiming that I had been call a racist (among other inappropriate labels), it was HCP I particularly had in mind. Others have, too, (dviss and a few more), but, without naming names, it was mainly HCP I was alluding to in that moment.

Anyway, I said my peace, felt I had sufficiently alerted the mods, and have moved on from all of that.

If I'm not mistaken, I said crandc called me a hater. Included with that remark, I said I've been called a hater and a racist by others in here. I was thinking of HCP in the racist category. If that confused people, and her, I apologize. crandc has never called me a racist to my knowledge.

So fun fact: @Chris Craig went through over 500 posts in the OT section with the keyword racist in the search.

Chris is a good man, that took him a long time.

He did in fact find a post where someone called @ABM a racist. It was over a year ago in one of ABM's French Press threads.

Also ABM never replied or complained about the post.

I have no doubt OB is a fine guy in person, but going after someone's job is so over the line it's ridiculous. It's not even something to joke about.

And truly, it was weird how every thread he was in descended into a narcissistic tirade of him crying about how everyone attacks him. Every friggin time.

I agree. You don't go after someones livelihood. It's not even funny to joke about it. If you read my post it was actually Bodyman's brainchild. Bodyman came to OB with it via pm because he saw the beef between OB and HCP. OB ended up not going along with it. But, he is forever connected to it. It's one thing to suspect someone, it's another to openly accuse someone of actually doing it. OB is a passionate dude, he has fought to try and clear his name.

Yes, there were alot of long ranting posts by OB. This is a forum and if you post something, know it will probably be replied to and there will be dessenting opinions. That said, it takes at least two to tango. I did note that he would post and like a magnet several posters would jump at the bit. Arguments would ensue and I or other mods would have to clean it up, move it, delete it, etc.

I told OB to chill and not take the bait. To not continue the arguments. To let it go. It's hard not to push that reply button when people are responding to you.

OB seemed to be stuck on mod biases and cliques, and people being able to get away with insults. Even if I disagree with his conclusions on that, he was fighting against perceived wrongs.

You're forgetting one part and it's a big one. OB did post in the forum to HCP how would you like it if someone sent these posts to your boss. And that's exactly what happened. I have no idea who sent it, so I can't accuse or defend anyone but OB did introduce the idea of going to the Blazers over what was posted in the forum.

And it has happened multiple times since.

Yes, he created a thread called, I wonder what the Blazers would think about it regarding his shtick with newcomers, and it was quickly removed by Natebishop I believe. OB holds responsibility for that.

It has come up since everytime HCP brings it up and he and OB get into it.

I didn't want to go into all of this again. But, it keeps coming up, so apparently it needs to be aired ok so we can finally put it away.
