Aljaz Bedene beaten in round one at Barcelona Open

British No 2 Aljaz Bedene has been knocked out of the Barcelona Open in round one, losing in three sets to Russian qualifier Karen Khachanov.

The 26-year-old Slovenia-born player was beaten 3-6 6-3 7-6 (7-2) in two hours and six minutes by Khachanova, who is ranked 79 places below him.

Nadal, Nishikori advance to third round of Barcelona Open

Rafael Nadal rebounded from an early break to beat Marcel Granollers 6-3, 6-2 Wednesday, advancing to the third round of the Barcelona Open.

Two-time Barcelona Open champion Kei Nishikori advanced to the third round by beating Thiemo de Bakker 6-4, 6-2. He broke the Dutchman's serve three times.

Nadal to Face Nishikori in Barcelona Open Final

Rafael Nadal will play Kei Nishikori in the Barcelona Open final after both past champions won their semifinals in straight sets on Saturday.

Nadal saw off Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany 6-3, 6-3 to return to his first final here since 2013, when he won the tournament a record eighth time.
