Barclays Center Ground-breaking in November?
May 24, 2008, 6:29 am Buried in an Architectural Record article on Atlantic Yards, home to the Nets’ new arena, is word that the team plans formal ground breaking on Barclays Center this November, just as the NBA season starts. Bruce Ratner is hoping that courts will have dismissed critics’ lawsuits by then. The Record describes the new design for the arena as “reminiscent of (Frank Gehry)’s famed Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain”.

Finally, lets get this show on the road. I'll feel relieved once this finally makes some tangible process.

I still think it looks like crap. Well, worse than crap actually. But at least it's finally getting started.

I've been waiting for this for so long, I will make it a personal goal to be there when this happens.
