I don't know that it did much to add to the civility of these meetings, but it was pretty funny.
That's just one guy I do not like. Guess way to liberal for my blood.
How is he suppose to answer that question? "why are you supporting obama's nazi policy?" that's like saying "why are you supporting those anti-sematic trail blazers?" it's just not true! That's just one guy I do not like. Guess way to liberal for my blood.
He isn't funny at all....
He is an arrogant prick....who enjoys belittling others...

There is something truly nauseating about this nut job accusing a Jewish congressional representative (and an openly gay man) of being "pro-Nazi". The people who murdered gays and Jews. Why is it that I can't help thinking that this nut job would probably have approved of both?
Maybe because at another town hall, an Israeli visitor to our country spoke approvingly about his country's national health and a woman shouted "Heil Hitler" at him.
These are not rational people. The man in Montana who asked Obama how health care would be paid for was a rational person asking a reasonable question. He deserved, and got, a courteous reply. Rational people debate real world. People who shout "Nazi" and "Heil Hitler" at Jews are not rational and don't deserve a courteous reply.
Don't know much about his politics, but I enjoyed that clip a lot. Reminded me of this:
National Socialism stood for more than genocide. Learn about their spending programs and their social programs. Describing a policy as "Nazi" doesn't mean someone is saying it's equivalent to a Holocaust. To me, she appears to be a bit kooky, but Rep. Frank, rather than trying to find the basis for their disagreement belittled her. He's a US Congressman, shouldn't he be bigger than that?

I implore you, rather than demonizing your opposition, try understanding their views. I lost an entire side of my family in the Holocaust, save for my grandfather who had emigrated here before the War. Must I be offended too? Must I react emotionally? Nah, I prefer to think, instead.
And do you really think anyone who disagrees with Barney Frank must hate Jews and gays? Is it possible to have an honest disagreement with his political viewpoint?

so did fdr and trudeau here in canada- why dont they yell fdr? it would be a more apt description than nazi. and these ppl are rural rednecks who think the world is 5000 years old and that man existed alongside dinosaurs; i highly doubt they know anything about national socialism.
Because if people said "Your Pierre-like policies..." everyone would look around and say, "Who the hell is that?" Then you'd have to respond, "Remember that Canadian PM with the freaky wife?" And that takes some of the effect off of it.
People who oppose policies will generally use the most extreme and confrontational example to make their point.
